Okay, I’m paying for a membership so why can’t I have it all?

So, I’ve been doing a little thinking lately and I feel like I’m being somewhat censored; I’m not a troublemaker by no means but I’m at a point right now where I’ve been doing some thinking about how to promote my latest ebook. I would like to create another website or create another blog (however that works), I’m aware that I can’t promote my latest ebook on WA and that’s fine. What I do want is to get access to another blog or website so I can promote my ebooks.

I mean, I’m paying 50.00 a month for a membership here so I should be able to do or get whatever I want (at the cost of sounding like a 5 year old child). I feel like I’m being censored and I don’t like that because I’ve been loyal and very supportive of WA and the community, I’m not an unfair man nor unreasonable; I just want to be able to create another website or blog and promote my ebooks in peace.

I can’t think of any reason why I would be denied that especially since WA is a business platform, and it’s one of the most revolutionary of its kind to be sure which is the ample place to build another website and blog for my ebooks where I would be trying to turn more of my content writing in this regard into cash. Oh and also, they’re erotica/romance short stories; I don’t make that a secret nor will I.

I get that some people are sensitive to this kind of thing and if you are then that’s fine, I don’t have a problem with that. But, I can’t think of any moral lines in the sand that I’d be crossing by wanting to use my membership on WA to build another website/blog to share my writing with the people especially those who are into erotica and romance as I am.

Make no mistake, I have a website that I’m very proud of and I want it to go on the record that despite not posting on it in a long while, I’m still very devoted to it. Also, I love writing about my niche and the games and the tips I provide for them with my unlimited gaming genius. However, I’m good at writing about other things as well, I want to expand on that and it’s not even like anyone here would even see it because last I checked, no one really pays that much attention to another person’s blog unless it’s something of interest, to be blunt or at least that’s my observation.

I’ve been thinking about expanding on different aspects of my content building repertoire and I want to start here, I want a shot at getting my ebook out to the people or at least being able to share some of the content with the world even if it ISN’T on Wealthy Affiliate. Guess where I got the idea from, my video gaming niche and my wanting to expand on that as well.

I’ve been silent about this and decided I will be no longer.

If you go to my profile page it is the last site listed on follow me on. Currently, there are only listings in the MRR pages. If you want any other information please PM me Rodney.

Derek

Hello Rodney,

Why can't you promote your book on your current website? The self-promotion only applies to blogs on the WA platform and not to the blogs you place on your websites.

There is certainly no reason why you cannot have another 49 websites as a premium member although 25 would have to be with siterubix subdomains.

Derek

It's not like I can't promote my book on my current website but here's the thing, I don't want to confuse people. How would I do that anyway, is there a way Derek?

If the book has nothing to do with your website content then it may be better to start a new site. I have a site that just sells ebooks but it is not on WA because it is not a WordPress site. But it sells books in many categories.

If you think your book will confuse people then start another site.

Derek

See, that's what I want to do. Sell my ebooks. But, you're saying its not a Wordpress site so where are you selling them?

Hey Rodney. If you have a clear idea of the subject matter, content and in which direction you woul dlike to go, why not put together an outline and ask Kyle/Carson. They might be able to give you some clearly defined guidelines and then you can decide if there is enough leeway for you to do your site justice.
Below is a link that, although not exactly 'on point' gives some input into how others see things.
Most hosting platforms have 'guidlines' as to what is and isn't acceptable.

I can't see any reason why you can't buy another domain name and have another site hosted here, Rodney. You can have up to 25 websites hosted here using your own domain names.

As far as censorship is concerned, pornography, hate, violence and other nasties are banned, as they are on other hosting platforms. But adult content should be OK.

That's all it is, adult content. I've asked about this in the past and have gotten few answers regarding what is or isn't okay. Now, I'll be the first to admit that it is a slippery slope as far as the line goes between erotica and pornography because 10x/10, it's viewed as both.

If I'm going to really create my second website/blog regarding adult content, I can't be censored because what's not to say that adult content isn't or is grounds for getting banned.

What counts as adult content, what is the difference between that and pornography; where is the line drawn between adult content and erotica for that matter?

Hi Rodney,
As far as I know you can have 25 of your own domains here as a Premium member and the 25 SiteRubix free domains provided. Is there some sort of issue happening when you try to build a new site within the site builder? Or, maybe I'm not understanding what's going on for you in regards to this either.

I wouldn't see why you couldn't build another site focusing on your writing and books that you'd like to promote...maybe as an author site using your name as the domain name would probably be what I'd do...but, of course, that's up to you.

Hope that helps some..
Best wishes :) ~Sherry

It's not that Sherry, I've been told by people here in the past that I can't promote or have an erotica/romantic blog here because the content is a little upsetting to people and it could get me banned as was said.

This angers me because if I'm paying 50.00 a month for my membership here, I should be able to write or create another blog to use as I see fit.

Well, I definitely can see your point...I suppose it'd depend on the people that view it and whether or not they're offended...everyone has different opinions I'm sure.

I guess some are offended by "adult" types of niches such as the erotica/romantic blogs for whatever reasons they might have...although if it's on your own domain they wouldn't be really finding it here at WA unless you ask for comments/feedback or list it in your profile... I'd think, but that's only my thoughts on the subject.

I suppose the only way to know for sure is if Kyle or Carson would address the issue as to what exactly is allowed or not.

Hope that helps...
Best wishes :) ~Sherry

Personally, what I'd like to know is why this type of thing is not discussed or it being made known early on if it is or isn't allowed because a blog is the ideal thing needed to get my erotica/romantic ideas out there especially for my short stories plus I do plan on writing a novel soon and want to share that as well.

If the content is adult related then it shouldn't matter as long as I'm not posting any naked pics of anything or anyone which brings me back to my earlier point, if I'm paying 50.00 dollars a month for a membership then I should be able to post what I want when I see fit to.
If we're all adults then a little bit of "flash bulbing", for lack of a better term, regarding certain adult actions shouldn't be censored or shutdown because if that's the case then why aren't video game blogs shutdown because gamers like me like to write about games or strategies regarding game where you drive everything from swords to chainsaws through your enemys' ribcage; why isn't that banned?

I have been asking Kyle to answer s straightforward question for the last 10 days but he seems incapable of doing this.

Maybe it is because there are young adults and even younger "kids" that are part of WA. I don't think there is a minimum age to join WA so check that out.

I'll look into that. That's never crossed my mind before considering that everyone on here are mature adults so that's why I didn't think it was an issue. That's also the reason why I'm looking to do this by getting a separate website to do this.

Yes, I do agree with you Rodney...it should be discussed and made clear what exactly is allowed or not allowed. It really shouldn't be any kind of problem since it's on your domain, not here in the blogs at WA...so basically most would never even know it existed in my opinion.

Although, like I think I mentioned before, people might be upset if you were to submit the site for feedback or comments....maybe, or maybe not...I suppose it all depends on how much detail you go into when writing ABOUT your book, guess you'd want to leave the really steamy stuff out, lol.

I'm assuming you'd be writing a short description or preview of the book and link it wherever your book is for sale...I'd see nothing at all wrong with that myself, and really would wonder why anyone else would have a problem with that either... it's sort of like going to a bookstore where you're looking around at the books, but not sitting there reading the entire thing....so no reason to be offended since there was nothing offensive to read on the back or front covers.

In my younger years we used to have book stores here, and I've never heard anyone complain about the erotic/romantic section in a book store, if they don't like it, they just don't go there, lol. But that's just my opinion. Maybe as Twack, stated below...make up an outline for Kyle and Carson so they'd have an idea what it'd be like on your site. Hope you can get this resolved so you can follow your passion of writing the books you want to write.

Thanks Sherry, I love open-mindedness but I love supportive feedback. I definitely was not going to submit my secondary website or posts for feedback because since people have sensitive stomachs to that kind of thing, I'll spare them.
This makes me yearn for the old days when people were a little more open-minded than they are now.

Creativity is a blessing to be cherished not silenced because people have weak constitutions about what they deem as moral. Ironic, really.

True indeed, Rodney...creativity is a blessing to be cherished not silenced...I love that! Yeah, it's funny isn't it, the more advanced we've supposedly gotten, the less open-minded many have become in order to fit in with what the "normal" point of view of something is or not...sad world for sure. Thanks for sharing :)

You're welcome Sherry. I'm glad my logic and the influence of it is seen as it is, but it is more than just mere influence; people see this around them everyday. I'm just choosing to rise above it.

Thank you Alisterbrede, exactly. Someone told me to reach to him and I was like, I'm not going to bother because I'll be old and grey before I get a response. I get that people are busy and have obligations, but your obligatory duty should be to your people because at the end of the day, a city's greatest treasure is its people. I was 19 when I first heard that and when you stop and think about it, it makes a lot of sense especially since this is "supposed to be" a family-type community.

So sorry to hear that, I hope you get an answer sometime soon...he's always answered questions before when I've asked in the past, although it may take a day or two sometimes. Maybe he's not seeing you had a question for some reason...did you send it to him as a PM?

You re allowed 25 . com website Rodney so contact site support as there must be an error in the back somewhere

A error, I'm not sure what you mean or are talking about, can you elaborate on that?

Hi Rodney. Have you contacted site support? It sounds like you may have a gremlin in the works. Jim

A gremlin, I'm not sure what you mean but if gremlin is code for 'you can't build another website around your secondary (possibly) niche which is erotic romance/romance short stories and novel then yes, I do.

What niche would that fall under?
