Are There Any Worthwhile Benefits Of Pay Per Click Advertising?

Hi Folks

I have seen a lot of questions asked this week from new members who seem to be confused about PPC. This is understandable because it does take some time to work with PPC Advertising correctly so that you get a good return on your investment.

In this blog I will do my best to explain what PPC is and the benfits to your home business.

PPC is simple once you really understand how it works. If you're thinking about giving PPC a go then you really need to do a lot of research. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of training on PPC within WA so you might want to work with an expert who is willing to show you the ropes.

PPC is an advertising method that lets you put your Ads in text on a search engine page. Think of one of the popular search engines and what you see when you type in a search term. Several results pop up, both in the center of the screen and off to the side. Some are sponsored results, meaning you are paying for them to be there and others happen naturally based on how well the website has been built. PPC usually appears on the organic results, and you only pay when people click on your entry.

Using PPC also allows you to target specific geographical areas. If you find that customers are more interested in your product from a different part of the world, PPC allows you to focus on that country or region. You don't need to set up a website for a specific country to achieve results. You simply select a given country as your target and those people are going to be driven to your site. This is going to save you money because you can set your focus on one place.

PPC also gives you control over the cost of your campaign. You decide what you want to pay for each visitor that follows your link. This enables you to outbid those who might want to use a similar search result term and get more attention and more visitors than you. However, keep your costs reasonable, and stick with the amount you want to pay.

The best part about PPC is that you get fast results. Visitors come to your site and you have little to worry about in regard to building an optimized site to get higher rankings. It can take weeks or longer to build a site that is capable of producing the results of PPC as quickly. Once you set up your PPC campaign, you are set to go and you will see visitors increase.

There you have it folks - Pay Per Click advertising can be intimidating simply because people new to online marketing don't understand what PPC is, and they fail to see the benefits of using something like this for their own business.

Pay for click is a great way to grow your home business, but use it wisely, and as I said above - Do Your Research Or You Will Lose Money.

Have a great day and be successful.

I am somewhat familiar with PPC ads. Etsy has several ways for it's members to advertise their work. I use PPC and set a limit on how much money I want to spend for advertising. And I select which items I want to show. I can control my expense this way, and keep track of which items are getting clicks and which are not. I don't think anybody will get rich this way.

Hi Barbara and thank you for stopping by.
From your comment you are doing the right thing but you can make a lot of money from a PPC Campaign.
You should have whatever you're selling/promoting as a high end product so that your targeted traffic are the ones you want to turn into buyers.

You wont have this with a run of the mill advertising campaign anywhere on the net.

Targeted traffic will always be best Barbara.

Have an awesome day and be successful whatever you're up to.

Good stuff Robert!
I have had several forays into PPC thru the years, none since I have been here at WA.

The best part of your advice is "Do Your Research Or You Will Lose Money"
With this you a re totally correct and you can lose by making simple mistakes so nobody should spend their lunch money on PPC.

It is like all advertising. You have to be willing to find out how much you have to spend to make to make the ROI correct. So you have be willing to invest in testing different ads and such to make it work.

I did run a successful PPC once back in 2014 but it was a limited deal and ended lol I learned a lot by losing some money but think I have a handle on it now and it is something that I Take seriously as my Daddy taught me. You do have to be willing to spend money to make money!

Yes indeed Dennis, you will surely lose more money than you will make unless you fully understand the process.
Of course you have to spend money to make money but you don't have to lose any when you do it right and of course its always best to do it right first time.
Have a good one Captain.
Robert

Thanks for your insights :)

I've had some small successes with PPC in the past.

But it's just not sustainable unless you have a lot of money to burn.

Additionally, you need to send that traffic to an email opt-in page or sales funnel for any real results.

I've found that sending paid traffic to an affiliate link or even a blog post review just doesn't cut the mustard.

I was out of pocket more than anything.

Build a blog, make it profitable. Then use those profits for PPC, is my advice.

Yes indeed Neil you do need money but so as not to lose it you should take it slow and easy and only spend what you can afford to lose.
Enjoy your day.
Robert

Yup, small budget and slow scaling is the best way to test the waters with PPC.

Cheers, you too Robert.

No probs Neil and happy tpo pass on my tips and advice.
Enjoy your weekend to come.

Good post Robert, lot of truth in it and good advice

I have tried it previously and it needs watching a lot, so it may be better to focus on producing quality content, then share it with your network, or at least those you want to target with in that niche

Both ways to my mind produce the same results

Hi Dave
Thank you for dropping by.
Of course quality content will always bring traffic but they have to know where it is.

This is where PPC comes into its own coz you will get that traffic but it doesn't have to cost you the earth if you fully understand the process.
Onward sand upwards.
Robert

Absolutely

I think that the reason there is not much training here at WA, because Kyle is trying to get you to be a better writer. That his training is how to get free traffic and it is have to buy it. It is a easy way to spend alot of money without not much success. Free traffic is the best traffic. That is what Kyle teaches .

Hello David
Of course free traffic is one way to get people to your site but with PPC that traffic is going to be targeted and as long as you have what the people are looking for then you are ok.
It can all be down to using the write keyword phrase.
Have a good one.
Robert

Thank you Robert for sharing.

Happy to pass on my tips Emmanuel.
Have a great day.
Robert

Great post ....I just purchased a complete guide on ppc yesterday and the subject is massive and can be confusing....you definitely need to do a lot of research before you start Ppc as it will save you a lot of money when you do ...

Yes indeed Sean, PPC does take a lot of understanding for you to be successful at it but once you are fully conversant with what's required you can make a pretty decent income and of course a lot faster than any other way.
Enjoy your day.
Robert

Thanks, Robert,
This was really helpful.
Jane

Happy to help Jane and hope you went away with a better understanding on how PPC can work for you.
Enjoy your day.
Robert

I absolutely did, thanks Robert

Onwards and Upwards Jane.
