Create A Contact Form
Hi Fellow Members
On occasion I use a Contact Form on my websites and below are the instructions for putting one on your own sites. Before you go ahead and create one for yourself you can visit my site and see if it’s something you would like for yours.
The Form is actually on the right side as well.
Creating A Contact Form Instructions
First off before you do anything else you have to create an actual Header on your website for your Contact Form to be placed in.
Easy to do
Website Menu Header
Go into Pages
Click ADD NEW
In your TOP Title Box you enter something like - Contact Us - Contact Me - Contact - Contact [your first name]
Then you Publish Right Away.
You go then into Appearances - Menus - Make sure it’s your Main Website Header Menu showing and if not find it from the Drop Down Menu near the top and Select.
Once it’s showing on the right hand side
Tick the little box on the left hand side where your newly created Contact Form should be (Top Entry)
Click Add To Menu at the bottom of the List and its moved over to the bottom of the website menu.
Make sure it’s at the Bottom.
Click Update and you're done.
Visit your website and it should be showing as the last entry on the right side.
(if there isn’t enough room it will be over on the left under your first Header)
The Contact Form is a Plugin so you go into Plugins and click ADD NEW
Type in - contact form 7
Once you see it in the list (it should be the Top one) you click to install it and then activate it.
A new Button might also appear in your Dashboard called - Contact Form - You click this.
If it isn’t there no matter coz on some themes it doesn’t. Just go into Plugins, find the plugin and click on Settings.
Next Screen - click on - contact form 1 - which is the Default Form
You copy the code in the Box below where depending on what theme you have it will say - copy this code into your page or post or text widget content
(it doesn’t look too good as a widget unless you have plenty of empty space on your Sidebar)
You Highlight the Code and copy/paste it into the Contact Form you created in EDIT MODE
I would suggest you put a little pic of yourself to the right or left of the code to give it a wee bit personality.
You could also put a pic/image below it with a link embedded in it to Wealthy Affiliate or any other link you prefer.
Then click Update
Then Click on Visit Page and you should see your contact form
This form will always send to the email you have entered within your Wordpress
If you want to change that email you have to go into SETTINGS then General and change the - Email Address - and NOTHING Else.
If you do change the email address - remember to Update/Save
You can ask WA members to test it for you or just do it your self so you will know it works ok.
I did say above that the contact form 1 is the default - you can change this if you want to depending on what version of the Form you prefer.
Leave a comment below and let me know what you think. And if you get the urge to click ‘Like’ as well it will be much appreciated.
Have an excellent day people.
