OMG...That Made Me Laugh
I have been going through what may prove to be one of the most challenging times in my life. At times I have had fleeting thoughts about how much easier it would be to drive my car off a cliff...OK...I know that's a bit extreme and NO, I'm not suicidal, but I am in a temporary situation where I need to turn the negative into a positive.
Truthfully, I need help.
Those of you who have read my blogs know that I am a positive person who loves to help and inspire others. The past three weeks have been a dramatic emotional roller coaster due to family issues that I have not been able to resolve.
In fact, I'm kind of drawing a conclusion that my involvement in the dying wish of my brother to help him mentor and rescue his adult kids is kind of like asking to be pecked to death by a flock of chickens. I was not responsible for instilling their values but I am now the recipient of their dramatic life choices and unresolved conflicts.
No matter how much you want things to change for the better, sometimes you just have to back away.
So here is my new plan. I've done everything I can do and now it's time for a side-splitting laugh. I hope you will join me. I'm thinking Audrey Hepburn was on to something when she said...
"I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most - to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person."
Audrey Hepburn
1929-1993, Actress and Humanitarian
Guess what? Maybe you aren't where you want to be with the building of your online business empire. Maybe my strategy to back away and take time for a good laugh will help inspire new creativity and perspective. Go ahead...laugh a little...

Thanks for hanging in there with me!

Hi Rebecca. I am so sorry that you are going through such a hard time with your family. It's never easy especially in a situation like that. I hope you can find some resolution and peace. Hang in there. Alanna
Hello Precious Alanna...things are looking up. The nephew that I have always loved is going through some issues but I look forward to days ahead and no longer feel responsibility for the outcome of his life choices. I am at peace and I look forward to a life of peace and joy. ~Rebecca
Rebecca; I just ran across another quote (coincidence ... maybe ... maybe not) that is a perfect fit to your situation, by Emery Lord: "Laughter feels like our flotation device - it won't pull you out of the storm, but it might carry you through, if you can just hang on!"
OMG...I LOVE IT! So helpful for me now. When you've done all you can to stand strong in the storm it's time to hunker down and just laugh. Nothing and no one can keep us down when we put our trust in the Lord and laugh at the situation and circumstances. Thanks, Melody.
very honest and a good way to spin things
I just wrote this, give it a read and answer the questions

Thanks for your post
Hello Dear Hantaah! I will read your post and I thank you so much for responding. Blessings to you dear one. ~Rebecca
Laughter ... this quote from Comic Strip Mama says it all: "Laughter is the best medicine! It is FREE! You can not overdose on it! It helps you embrace the insanities of life! It reduces stress, heals your body,,,, and relieves pain! It fights disease and cancer and strengthens the immune system! It eases your mind, protects your heart and soothes your soul!" I love this quote ... thanks for the great laugh and here's to MORE!
Oh dear Melody...thank you so very much. Part of my challenge is I am also caring for my 87 year old mom...the situation with my nephew is causing her great stress. So...I am doing my best to bring laughter to me and to her in this stressful time. Blessings to you dear one. ~Rebecca
Awesome post!!! Thanks for the laugh Rebecca! Things will turn around in your favor soon, I just know it!! Enjoy your day :o)
Ha-Ha..thank you so much Megan. I think everyone has experienced a relationship that just doesn't jive. If we can't fix it we need to move on. This one is with my nephew who is angry and sill hurting from rejection issues. Distance is the best thing in this instance and laughter for me is truly good medicine. Blessings to you dear one. ~Rebecca
Hi, Rebecca...sorry about the trials and tribulations with the family! I'm going through struggles too - not like yours but pretty serious, so I really appreciate the laugh! Blessings~Ansley
Hello Dear Ansley...we all have ugly stuff to deal with from time to time. From what I've read in your blogs you know how to deal with day to day stuff and sometimes you just have to take everything with a shrug and a grain of salt. Never let them steal your joy! Thanks for chiming in with me. ~Rebecca
I take time everyday to look for things to laugh at. It may sound strange but it keeps me in good spirits.
If you haven't seen this video yet, you will HAVE to laugh along with it.

So true dear Katie...this is only a passing phase in the journey of life...one that I choose to move away from with laughter. Surprisingly, laughter brings me strength and peace. Thanks for your comment! ~Rebecca
