Squidoo earnings update!
I've only made $1.55 so far, but it feels so amazing. I can't describe this feeling! I'm kind of giddy right now.
Squidoo is an excellent learning platform. I totally get why publicizing, pinging, SEO, and social networking all matter and are very effective when it comes to driving traffic to your sites. My trouble now is that I can only do so much, and it's hard to dedicate time and attention to my own websites and domains when I am having very real success with Squidoo.
I enjoy the vanity of owning and operating my own websites and domains. I feel like it channels my creativity more than any other platform. But I also think it's much more work to try and drive traffic to your own site instead of an already established site like Squidoo.
Perhaps I shall try to set aside time in my schedule to devote solely to my own websites and domains. Do any other lensmasters out there have any advice on how to allocate time?

Congratulations. You are doing great and the more you do the rewards will increase. You are a great example of someone who is tackling the jobs that need to be done

Use more places than Squidoo. I mainly use Street Articles alongside:
- Ezine Articles
- HubPages
- Articlesbase
- APSense
- GoArticles
- Gather
- Sooper Articles
- Helium
- InfoBarrel
- Amazines
- Bukisa
- Triond
- Wiki-Live
and if you can get apart of ehow.com or Technorati.com, that's cool. But you have to apply to write for those places.
Mainly worry about your own website though since that's your actual business and you own it. Squidoo could delete your content whenever they wanted too, and that's why it's important to back up everything you write. The only place I seriously trust with my content is Street Articles since I know they have there article directory built in a way where they don't really have much to worry about.
My website has over 500 pages to it with massive inbound link equity going into it, and my traffic will be well over the amount of traffic that goes to www.wealthyaffiliate.com. Good job getting a comment from the great PotPieGirl. ;) If you need any help, feel free to stop by my wall. Good luck.
Oh, and nice job! :)
Thanks for all the Squidoo alternatives, Light! I wrote one article for Ezine last week, and I will definitely get started on writing for those other sites, too...as soon as the holiday season is over. Then I will take a break from Squidoo :) I hope my Christmas lenses do well!
Congratulations, Pooky! When I grow up, I wanna be just like you! I've still got a lot of training ahead, but knowing others have been successful here gives me great encouragement. I'm proud of you! :-)
Congratulations this is awesome!!
Squidoo is good but your own site is the best. With your own site you have full control, using Squidoo you are playing by their rules and not your own.
Thanks, Veronica! Do you have any advice on time management, i.e. how much time I should devote to Squidoo vs. how much time I should devote to my own website?

Congrats, Pooky. That's terrific !!!
Thank you. I'm up to 14 sales now...a little over $3 in commission. Gotta start somewhere :)
That's 3 bucks more than I've ever earned!
