I've never dealt directly with Fast domain. I need an Authorization code to unlock the domain. also username and password?

Why not transfer it to WA?

Mel

I thought it was but I think WA uses Fast domain.com I transfered it from Blue Host to WA but ICANN says it's in Fast Domain.

Then I would contact and ask Site Support

Mel

Hi - WA uses Enom, so your website is not hosted here.

You will need to contact the support team at Fast Domain to find out how to get your authorization code.

Thanks Diane!

Mel

The website IS hosted here. But the domain is at Fast Domain I guess. So confusing.

Regardless. Thank you both..................John T.

Oh, I see. So, you have pointed the name servers of the website here to take advantage of the WA hosting that is included in your membership.

But your domain remains at Fast Domain, where presumably you bought it?

And now, you want to transfer the domain to NameCheap, but leave your website hosted here?

You will need to ask Fast Domain for the transfer code, but do be aware that by transferring the domain elsewhere, you will need to pay a further year's renewal fee to NameCheap.

I'm 71. Maybe my mind is going but I don't ever remember transferring the domain to Fastdomain. I've never even heard of it until now. But I guess I did. ....Thank you, Diane.

Do you still own the domain? You didn't miss the renewal fee, and now somebody else owns it?

I renewed it in May. I'm looking for the receipt to see to whom I paid it. Great bookkeeping. Huh?

I have it now as a post. It appears on the Google search ahead of my first post and out of context it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I feel like I am bass akwards.

John I would say that it is definitely best as a page so that people can find it on your main menu. As a post it will be buried and not easy for people to find.

One way of doing this now that you have it as a post would be to create a menu item called ABOUT and to add your post link as a custom link.

Then when people click on the menu item ABOUT, your post would show.

Hope that makes sense. I've added a screenshot from WP to show how you can do this.

~Mark :)

Thank you, Mark. This helps a lot.

Glad to know that others face doubts and uncertainties also. I am thankful for the honesty of the people in the community and their willingness to help others. Thanks JohnWT.

Your welcome, you'll learn a lot. Sometimes it's beyond me. You have a lot of talents, I'm sure you'll find a interesting niche.
Best to You

I created my about me discussion as a page and made it the first place people land when they find my website URL. That way they know what my website is about and who I am.

Thank you, Howard.

My niche is Acting Tips and after 30 years I can offer tips on every aspect of acting. I can't really drill down. I don't really want to.

John, you can even combine acting with music. Such as musical scores in plays, etc; (just something to think about)

I don't think it's too broad for a niche. Perhaps you could consider using categories for all the different aspects of acting such as stage, tv and movies. Then there's breaking it up into beginners, intermediate etc. If you're an all-round expert then you'll have lots to write about.

Thank you, Marion

Hi, John. Enter your niche into Jaaxy and see what it come up with. It will give alternatives as well as domain names.
Hennie

Thank you, Hennie.

Acting Tips is a potential niche.
acting tips for beginners
actin tips for kids
acting audition tips

With 30 years knowledge, I believe you should proceed.

Joe

Thanks, Joe.

I don't think that would be too broad, especially if you have such in-depth knowledge.

What types of products or services did you have in mind to monetize it? Books on acting? Places to buy costumes or props?
Makeup?

Thank you, Jeannine. Yes. Books, movies, schools, classes. etc.

I tried the automatic WP upload and the FTP(Filezilla) method. I may be zipping where I should be unzipping or vice versa. Can anyone please help?

PROBLEM SOLVED THANKS TO CARSON AND MARK HAMILT( MHAMILT) THANKS, GUYS.

Hi John,

You want to unzip the theme first, then upload it to your wp-content/themes directory

After uploading it will look like this:

wp-content/themes/yourthemename/

Carson

Thanks, Carson. I thought I had unzipped it. It went from the original download to main to morpheus. I had trouble figuring out what folder to upload. I have trouble with zipped files. I'll figure it out somehow. I just wanted to make sure that WA will accept premium 3rd party WP files. Thanks for your help..............John

Hi, Carson. I'm back. I have tried everything for hours to load this Theme. I must be doing something wrong but I'll be danged if I can find it. I've unzipped then sent to wp-content/themes via Filezilla and i've tried loading from the admin page. Please help. I found the correct theme file to download ( i think) It has a "style", a Css, demo, etc. I'm missing something obvious( I can feel it), besides my brains, about uploading and zipping and unzipping files. Can you or ANYONE in the community help? I can't find anything in the archives but I'm sure someone else has had this problem. It's a good thing I'm ALREADY bald.

Hey John I know you asked this question a while ago but i'm having trouble uploading a theme i just purchased on themeforest to wordpress here on W.A. do you know what the problem might be? I keep getting a failure notice everytime i try to upload it. please let me know what you did to solve this problem.
