After spending 24 years at AT&T, I came to the realization that I was tired of working for someone else, I was tired of watching others profit from my labor, and I was tired of being unappreciated. Clearly, the path I was on did not lead to where I wanted to go. Even though my advancement in the corporate world had been stifled by my inability to kiss management's backside, I told them to kiss mine and I walked out the door. After taking a few years off to travel and enjoy life while still young enough to do so, I began looking around for something I could do that would put ME in control of my future. With encouragement from Steve (IveTriedThat), I landed here. I'm a 52 year-old grandfather of two (want to see some pics?) and I'm looking for a brand new start. I'll be the first to admit I'm not as sharp as I used to be, but I'm hoping perseverance and determination can get me where I want to go. Who wants to help me get there? :-)

Thanks for adding me. I'm in almost the same position as you. I have a couple of years on you but also a Grandfather of 2. Unemployed and looking for a way to make it without a management to kow-tow to.
