My Interesting Experience With Paid Ads On Facebook
Hello WA Community,
Last week I decided to boost one of my music website posts on Facebook so I paid for an ad that went for like three days. Check for the results below.
On top of that, something else happened on my profile. I started getting too many friend requests something I've never experienced before on my Facebook account. The number of requests has swollen with time and today alone, as I was taking this screenshot, I had 863 friend requests. Note: These are one day's requests and wonder if I should approve them or not. I've tried to approve as many as possible and have talked to many of those people and found that they are real people not robots.
Now, I don't know if I should be happy or scared. Is this normal and has anyone else experienced this before? Is this as a result of the paid ad or something else? Are these requests related to my post at all?
I'd like to hear your experiences about the paid ads on Facebook and how it has worked on you.
Blessings
Paul.

Great result Paul and yes it pays to be cautious, but on the plus side you can always block people if they turn out to be spammers.
I spent about 3k over 12 months and would say it was a total waste. I got 'likes' and clicks but no conversions. It's possible that my offers were not as great as I thought too.
This can be a viable way to gain reach indeed and it sounds like the post you have boosted is seeing some good results.
I get A LOT of fake people trying to follow me, usually "scantily clad women", so just be careful about wasting your friend requests on people that are fake (as the limit is 5,000).
If you get greater engagement in your posts (ie, with real people), you will get more exposure so fake followers can adversely impact your rankings scores within Facebook.
Thanks Kyle for stopping by. Actually it's disturbing me because I've noticed that most of the friend requests are women and I know none of them. This makes me stop and think how it's truly related to my post.
On the other hand, I haven't received any comments or engagement of any kind on my website post. My fear is to waste my 5k limit on useless friends.
I have not done any paid ads yet so I am not qualified to answer. I have to say I am leery of social media in general and choose to wait and slowly get followers as people find me organically and follow or I see someone I find interesting and follow them and they follow me back. In this way I have gained over 1,100 followers on Twitter this year. Some of those that follow me I do not follow back if they seem scummy (porn type stuff, etc). I am picky. The further along I go the more followers I get since more people can see what I post and I am suggested to people if their followers already follow me.
I think I will stick with this organic method for now.
Hello Paul, I find the paid ads do work. I have not had the number of friend requests that you are showing but my site is growing slowly but surely.
It appears you've really hit the spot with your audience targetting. Well done!
This can only be good for business, so I would suggest you continue the boost as it's clearly working.
Cheers!
Unfortunately I didn't get any comments on my website post so I still wonder if it's worth it.
