Hi there,

In the past couple of months, I've been seeing that my trackers for certain keywords in Jaaxy aren't really doing anything anymore. My top 1 page for example,

You may need to empty the browser cache, refresh and try again. Try URL in a different browser or mobile device.

However if issue persists you may like reach out to Kyle on their profile space

Hi there,

Thank you for this advice, I hadn't thought of that. Unfortunately after doing this and even after using a different browser (with cache cleaned), it didn't work.

Hi - I don't use Jaaxy to track rankings.

I use Google Search Console, which shows you every keyword you are ranking for, not just the ones you are targeting.

Yeah, what I normally do is take keywords from Google Search console that are scoring high and put them into Jaaxy Site ranking. Just to keep track of these keywords I'm scoring on in Google Search Console, whether thay are going up or down in the results. But at some point, it kind of just stopped working for me.

Hi everyone,

I was thinking about narrowing down my audience a little bit and wondering if it would be a good idea to translate my content.

Thanks everyone for your advice! I decided not to start translating. Not because I don't think it's worthy, it's just a lengthy process of making my website bi-lingual.

When looking at answers from other websites, they do see it as a very good idea as Google sees your translated content as new content, rather than the same content translated. This of course if the content is translated without translation tools.

So, I will do it in the future, when I feel I have more time for it.

I think Dale has the logical and feasible answer. I hope it will provide the guidance you are looking for.

If the plugin have your language it's easier to have one website. You can write in the language you prefer and whomever comes to your website can revert to the language they read in.

Too bad they don't have my language so I have one website and I write a page in my language and link to the post. That's a lot of work especially I can hardly write in my language. 😄

Good luck to you. Have a great day.

Generally, you would produce content in one language & then either let the user translate or provide a translation option through the use of a plugin. Writing in multiple languages is unnecessary effort - you should just pick your primary audience (English or Dutch) then let translation tools do the rest.

I have two websites on the same niche and same topic, one in English and one in Spanish, at the moment I started to work on these two sites, I thought that would be better as I didn't want to have the same content on one site in two languages.
Both are doing OK now, but the best one is the one in Spanish, it's a lot of work as I have to work double, but I'm sure the translation is good in both languages.

So, I've been a bit in a dilemma lately. I've been writing about retreats going on in all kinds of categories. Now, I always try to keep my posts up to date as I don't want any

PIHSA, great question! Your question and all the answers thus far have been very thought-provoking for me. I have a personal blog that I’ve been writing for several years about one of my most important passions: cancer research advocacy and why evidence-based research and practice are so critical. As I mentioned in my bio, my beloved Springer Spaniel literally watched over me during my cancer treatment, and I recently began a new website and blog dedicated to my other passion—dogs, pups, and all other pets and my fellow pet lovers affected by cancer or other serious illness who firmly believe that their pets played a crucial role in their healing or living as well as possible with chronic disease. I learned about affiliate marketing shortly after beginning to develop my new “We Love Canines” website, so I decided to have this new site be the basis for beginning as a pet product affiliate. Thanks to your question, I’m thinking that I may actually be able to repurpose some of my content from my original “Musings of a Cancer Research Advocate” blog postings and in fact, have now done so with a recent post from that blog, revising it a bit for my new “We Love Canines” website and blog. I realize that I have a great deal of work ahead of me, completing designing my new website, adding appropriate and healthful pet products as an affiliate, and adding content, but I’m a bit less overwhelmed concerning the content now. I have no doubt that the resources here, including on successfully designing websites and driving traffic to sites, and the great conversations here will help me meet my goals. Thanks again for your important question, and here’s wishing you ongoing success!

Hi Debra,

Thank you for sharing this story with us! I hope more people will read your message too :)!

I came up with the best plan for me, which is creating new content but making links to my other pages as well. Google loves that! It might be even better than always updating my content.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear that this question also helped you out and I wish you all the best with your blog. It's a subject that might concern a lot of people and I hope they will benefit from your blog as well as you have from the companionship of a pet during what must have been a very rough time.

I hope everything is well with you and that you are healthy or at least on the path of overcoming your cancer.

Big hug,

Virendra

New content wins in my opinion. Google will always find new content as a positive as it sees you are an active site and always up to date.

For the older or not relevant anymore posts, maybe create a block on those pages at the top saying "this retreat may not be available anymore, please see my up to date posts here" or something along those lines. That way Google will love your new content and you wont lose your old contents indexing/links etc.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your advice. I think by reading all of your comments here I came up with a plan ;).

From now on I'm gonna make new articles, rather than updating older ones and creating inside links. Some of my articles have some information about when the best time to travel is and such, it would be sad to see that info goes to waste. And we all know that Google doesn't like us to repeat.

Hey Virendra,

It is much easier to update content that has already been indexed, in hope that Google will rank that content higher and higher in search results.

Where, new content MIGHT rank okay in the first day or two and then fade drastically as more informative information is made available.

Personally, I learned the hard way to NOT delete old content without adding redirects to other similar posts. That REALLY hurts your entire website rank.

Hope you find this helpful.

Oh, I wasn't planning on deleting the content at all. It's just that I'm having a bit of a struggle to see what I should be writing about. Writing brand new articles updated for 2020, gives new content, but that means that I would have two articles that say for example "5 best winter retreats in Europe 2019/2020".

And thank you for the feedback by the way :)

Good Question! I would probably write a new post and add the link to my old one with an update notice. I think it depend on the kind of update you are doing. Is it only a minor update like a price or a major update like changes to a product or service.

Well, to give an example, last year I wrote "5 best Christmas Yoga Retreats", it did quite well and it got me thinking for this year: Should I update the old article as it got 800 words of explaining why you should go on a holiday retreat. So, I don't want to lose this content, but should I update the retreats that aren't doing anything for the holidays this season, or start over again.

And thank you for your feedback :)

Oh I understand. Yes you could do that and send it for new indexing. Personally I think I would have written a new post and link to the old one and vice versa unless the retreats are not longer available.

Thanks again Hilde, I think that's what I'm going to do from now on, as I'm running a bit dry on what I want to write about ;)!
