when the jaws open wide and there’s more jaws inside
that’s a moray
when it skulks on a reef and has two sets of teeth

when you’re down by the sea and an eel bites your knee

when an eel bites your hand and that’s not what you planned
that’s a moray
when an eel bites your thigh and you bleed out and die
that’s a moray
put your hand in a crack and you don’t get it back

when an eel has a maw with a pharyngeal jaw
that’s a moray!

When I was teaching reading with the younger kids it was much harder to find material that the boys wanted to read. I picked a book about worms for one group and half way through the book I had to stop. It was going to throw up. The boys loved it but I couldn't get through it. I think they would love this as a book too! It's great! The picture is beautiful!

Yes, I heard that a moray eel can really inflict some damage if threatened.
