What is a Blog?
Hi Guys and Gals
When you first join WA you read so much information and are introduced to many new words and one in Particular is the word Blog.
So what is a Blog?
A Blog is simply something that you have written and it can be anything for 300 to 3,000 words in length. Your Blog can be a true story or a review or a procedure or even Fiction.
A blog is used to attract people to your website and so it must be informative, interesting and captivating. You blog can be classed as "Bait". Fishermen use bait to catch fish and in a way that is what you are doing. You are using your Blog as bait to catch people and make then want to come to your website so they can buy what you have to offer.
A Website is the best way to become a worldwide fisherman and so your website is your basket and your blog is the bait!
What can you blog about - anything!
So lets go fishing!

Also, for those that don't know but may be interested, the word "blog" is a shortened version of "web log" ie a log (as in Captain's Log) that is on the web!
Also, a "vlog" is a video log and it could be argued that a"slog" is what this all is as it takes a long time to get it all together!!

I have a simpler answer. And how the word "blog" came to being.
"Blog" was a new word they invented in the late 90's which is actually a web log, or an entry on a website.
Think of the word web log and drop the "we" .....for short you get "blog" and that's how they came up with the word.
Folks often misuse the word "blog" to mean an individual blog entry, that's wrong. They actually mean a blog post.
Now it all makes sense.
