I don't get this at all. I'm pretty disappointed actually. I installed the Genesis parent and a child theme, but when I want to SEE the child theme and the way it should look

The theme only looks like that with images and stuff in the demo so you can get an idea of how your site is supposed to look with the theme.

You have to actually add images and content for those images to show. WordPress is really pretty easy when you get pass the learning curve.

I'm starting to use the html editor instead of the text editor. Also, I think I found a good article on how to edit the menus and categories. (I think). I'll thoroughly read through it and hopefully start getting the hang of it here.

Yeah, it's been a learning curve alright, especially with all the different plugins and widgets.

Could you suggest some must have widgets Jay?

Thanks my friend!

Yes the visual editor is what you're supposed to be using because it is WYSIWYG. You can use the text part only if you have to add some code to format your article for some reason.

For widgets, I don't usually use a lot of widgets but all my sites have a search widget if there isn't one built into the theme. A Recent Posts widget set to show a minimum of 5 most recent posts. A Categories widget so people can explore the different topics I post about. Sometimes I'll have an HTML widget with the banner code for an affiliate program pasted in so it displays a banner in the sidebar.

Its really up to you and what works best for your niche and conversions.

Hey everyone! Can anyone suggests a good wordpress layout/theme for a Amazon affiliate site? And adding reviews and widgets?

I know I can't put a "buy" button on the sit

You can find a wealth of free themes doing a search using Google, I have looked through lists of top 10, 20, 50 or more to see which might fit best for my needs in the past...

Many have a free and premium version of their themes, and most things you can do with the free, and if at some point you want more features, you can upgrade...

For our e-commerce stores, this is what happened. We ended up trying 3-4 before picking one that was able to do everything we wanted it to...

Now for all the WordPress based stores we use that one theme (we have a multi-site license) - this makes it much faster when peparing a new store for opening...

It also helps get things done faster because we know the theme well and what to do to make it as we want. Time is money so that is important to us...

Once you have a list of 3-4 that look like they may work, look here to see if that free version is available from SiteRubix. If not likely you can download from the link on the review page you found the theme at...

Good luck!

This training may help: ~Jude

When you log-in to your Dashboard on the left hand-side of the navigation hover over Appearance and then click on Themes.. It will provide you with a list of themes you can choose from.

Widgets is also under the Appearance as well, just click on Widgets.

If you aren't familiar with Amazon's rules, I would make sure to read them so you do not get banned from being an affiliate either..

You can watch this video.. Or, Good Luck!!

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated. And after reviewing their guidelines, I think I'm going to pass becoming an affiliate. With such a tie down on what you can do and cannot do with little reward in return, I wouldn't want to deal with their crap.

I have a Godaddy domain but I don't want to purchase their hosting plan. Does WA help with hosting if I have a domain with Godaddy or am I stuck with WA hosting and domain serv

You can leave the domain registration as it is and change the DNS (Domain Name Servers) to point to WA to take advantage of WA's hosting.

Thanks for the response and the link. I'm actually on the training part where Kyle is going over setting up your website, etc. Looking forward too seeing what I can do with the services and I've already made two sub domains that are being forwarded to a capture page hosted by the conversion pros. I guess I'll making more sub domains to point to WA as well as I'm an affiliate with MCA (Motor Clubs of America)

You can keep your domain at Godaddy and use it with a WA hosted website.

Likewise you can purchase a domain at WA and then point it at an external host.

Hello, thanks for the reply. WA will allow you to host your files on the site as well? I'm assuming there is training for this?

Also, is there anyway to create capture pages for getting emails/leads?

Thanks!

You can host all of your WordPress files on WA (SiteRubix), it's all implemented automatically when you create a website.

However, you can't host anything other than a WordPress site.

If you want to store additional files, not related to your WordPress installation, then you could do that by creating an appropriate directory and FTPing them onto the server. So long as they're not of significant size, and related to your business, that'd probably be okay. What I mean is business document files you want stored with the site, not 4GB movie files!

Once you have a website, simply create a new page, designed as you needed, and that can act as your landing page.

I'm curious if there is some training on facebook ads, dark post, unpublished post, etc. and branding yourself when promoting a service. I'm an affiliate for MCA and need to pr

Jay (magistudios) has a Facebook training series.

I'd start with this one (it's a bit dated but still worthwhile) Then follow his Facebook Ad case study. WA search bar will help you find them. ~Jude

I have done a few facebook ads - post engagement, and web converson. what do you need to know? I am not sure if I could help you but I can certainly try!

I'm very intrigued about creating unpublished dark post or unpublished post in FB as it lets you get more specific with who you are targeting.

I'm currently an affiliate with MCA (Motor Club Of America) and I want to promote their services, and possibly get them to sign up and become an affiliate as well so I can make a residual income.

So far, I've had my ads account disabled for violations and soon will create another facebook account and business page. After that, I'll have to have someone create a business manager so they can ad me as an admin where I can make multiple ad accounts just in case facebook disables it, I'll have back ups. I've learned from a top earner for MCA that does facebook ads training for MCA and she has helped many get their first sales, even after trying for so many months.

I'm currently using Bing ads and they're really supportive. They will call you and have a one on one session to make sure your ads are running properly to get the best CPC rate. But I'm not getting any results or leads as of yet.

Thanks for the reply!

I think you are doing the right thing to have some backup. I know that FB will disable your account if you directly link the company's sales page. So you always want to post something to promote on your website and link FB ad to your website. You may already know about it though.

I have not used Bing Ads and want to learn about it very soon as FB ads get pretty tricky, and could go pricey.

Good luck!
