Do you believe in Mind over Matter?

Last Update: August 14, 2017

There are days when we don’t have the motivation to work on our site, what do you do then? Do you keep reminding yourself of your goals and thus motivate yourself to get started? Does a pep talk work?

Do you believe in the power of the mind, in convincing yourself to do certain things, which normally you do not have the power to do, or the strength to bear it? I know many people have read the book “The Secret”. Do you think constantly thinking about one thing will make it come true in the end? Do you believe in it? Has it ever worked?

If yes, you believe it, please share with us your internet marketing goals. Are you prepared to invest all your thinking hours on it? :)

I read some of your blogs and like your positive attitude. You've accomplished a great deal in the time you've been here. You're a good example for others to follow. I wish you the best in all you do & I've decided to follow you.

Thanks so much Teri for the compliments! Very happy that you read my blogs and I will continue writing them. You might have noticed that I do not post randomly? I only write things that I really feel something for. I look forward to your future participation on my blogs and best wishes to you!

We will put off anything that requires us to sacrifice the moment - unless there is a sense of urgency in us to get it done.
Create a reason for doing
I guess that's a kind of mind over matter.

Cheers

Live in the moment, I like your philosophy!

Also giving up the moment to do something else has its opportunity cost and sometimes we have to see whether the cost is worth it.

It will be great if we can always keep the mind on the present moment.

Good evening to you Moon. There is truth in Mind over Matter. Just as if you are experiencing a bad day, for whatever reason, that if you smile real BIG, feel good endorphins are flooded into your bloodstream and within seconds, your depression is lifted and you become happy. Try it - it works!

I am happy that you mentioned endorphins, seeing that word alone already improves the day :) I must keep that in mind when I encounter the next stressful day. Thank you so much!

At this point, my goals are to produce a piece of content at least weekly and at the same time work on getting social traffic from Pinterest, and FB.

Of course, the biggest thing distracting me right now from achieving these goals is the post on WA. I keep letting all the great stuff everyone is posting suck me in. So, for at least 4 hours a day I will be turning my email notifications.

Out of sight and hearing out of mind. My new slogan.

99% of the time I do not achieve my goals because of my work schedule. Next week I'll have a little more time to work on my business.

If I feel that way, I find it easy to write. Writing is one of the things we are tasked to do. And, perhaps, one of your writing sessions will turn into a blog post or a page on your web site!

Hope this help!

Absolutely Mitch! Motivation gives us a push and while we are on a roll, it's easier to get things done. What I'm not sure is how to direct my mind onto the contents for my blog. I can write a lot here but when it comes to my website blog, sometimes I draw a total blank, i.e, mind not working, so matter is not out :)

When that happens to me, I stare off into space and close everything down. I can do this for a few minutes and it does work sometimes. If it's really bad, I'll get out of the house and do something.

They say exercise helps too!

Great question! I need to find my answer for this one. This question will help us clarify our own commitment.

Thank you for asking this question. I am going to work on my answer!!!

No I don't, first comes:

Matter over Mind:
Your body and Soul are always first in line to balance with our Universe. The Universe, our Sun and Earth are all connected with us and are here to recharge and balance our frequencies and energizes our auras to protect us from harmful negative energies. In some cultures they are also called Chakras.

No Mind can work correctly if body and soul are not balanced in energy.

So sometimes we need to give our body and soul the time it needs, show respect to yourself and take care of yourself, the rest will follow by itself.

Yes I do believe in mind over matter. My problem is that a tend to go at goals full speed, never taking a break and I burn myself out!!! Much like I was feeling this weekend.

I was so tired and my brain was so overloaded that it was hard for me to concentrate on my sites and to work on them. So I took a break.

A break for me is not to get completely away from the project, but to go to other areas within the project. Like this past weekend I focused on learning how to place blogs and questions, how to copy and paste within the program, etc.

I was still learning, thanks to my WA family and the community, but it was in a different way.

So I guess you could say that I re-adjusted my mind, but still took care of the matter at hand. Does this make any sense??!?

Just sayin'

Hi Tammi,

Rest and work is equally important, would be good to find the right balance. Thanks for the share on how you use the "break"... that is surely motivating to hear.

Yes, but getting out of your comfort zone is the trick, there are times that i really don't want to go to the gym, but start thinking
about the results and i am motivated to go. As far as putting time into my online business I can visualize success and will work toward the end.

Many people can probably relate to that. Go to the gym, eat healthier, sleep earlier, start writing my posts etc... before we start, there always seem to be an invisible force holding us back, but once we get started, like you do with the end success in mind, then motivation kicks in.

Yes, but I am still working on the mind part so it can be over matter..
Reply
onebluemoon Premium
Yes, I believe the hardest part is overcoming ourselves and our weaknesses.

Yes, I believe in it very much, though I don't necessarily believe that doing something when you just don't feel like it qualifies as mind over matter. That's just being disciplined.

I have had a number of experiences with visualising things and having them manifest. My most recent bog dealt with this, actually.

Now, I have to focus all my thoughts and efforts on building my business. I haven't put as much effort into it as I should have recently, so I need to get back on track.

Your visualisation experience sounds very interesting, is that proof that your minds made those visualisations come true?

Its easy to get off track at times, just get back and work on. Best wishes to you...

I don't really know the "hows" and "whys". I just know what seems to work, so I plan to keep doing it. Ha ha.

Mind over matter is true. Doing something when you don't feel like doing so is discipline. My ultimate goal is to create an internet presence which will carry on long after I'm gone. My marketing plan is to use social media repeatedly.
Reply
onebluemoon Premium
I guess when something becomes a chore, we have to let habits and discipline to get us through sometimes.

Sounds like a really long term goal of yours and its admirable. Thanks for sharing...

Is your marketing plan working? What kind of platforms are you using? Do you manage them yourself?
Reply
pablocortina Premium
I manage everything myself at this time. I use social platforms from LinkedIn to twitter. The platforms work as long as you are constantly tending them like posting for example.
Reply
onebluemoon Premium
This is an area which I need to work on more? May I also ask whether you keep sharing the old posts again and again on the platforms?
Reply
pablocortina Premium
I use only new material. I don't use old posts.

I believe in mind over matter Moony, but I also believe in recuperation and rest.

At times you cannot force the ideas to come, you need to do something fun and relaxing and come back to it. When you come back to it refreshed, the ideas will flow better than ever.

Then when you are recuperated, the power of the mind will work wonders.

Awesome inspirational! So we need a balanced mind in addition to a focused one.... relax to let the ideas flow in and focus to keep them in :)
