I feel good talking to one of "the old guys" like me. My school days ended along time ago and I am having trouble getting into it again.. I go over the material, and some of it sticks, a lot of it goes in and right out again.. The biggest problem are all the new: tech lanquage , acroynmss, abbreviations, etc. You can't fully grasp the full content of the sentence when you can't comprehend the full meaning of it's content. I find myself having to go over the same thing multiple times. after a while, I get frustrated and just quit. This is not like me and is a totally new feeling.. I'm not slow or a bad student, Obviously things change as you get older.
I'm sure you don't have that problem as you have been an academic all your life.
Hope you can understand my problem and maybe give me some tips. Age: 77--- Thanks for your time. this is as far as I got.

https://wealthhealthfreedom.net/ for your time.

Hi Bill, first I have not been in academia all my Life, just the last 20 years. On my blog I explain a little about how I got here. I too work in the aircraft industry, I was a fuel management computer technician, installing and calibrating fuel management systems when I fell off of a stand while calibrating a fuel probe. Fell 15 feet to the tarmac, crushed 3 vertebra. I was able to go back to school while I was off on workman's comp. It is hard going back to school after so many years as you can see from my profile I'm 69, will be 70 in September. I started my new learning career when I was 42 and Completed my Masters in Education in 2005 so it hasn't been that long ago.
I have found that the best way to learn something is by teaching it. Also I like hands-on, I learn better by doing it. I understand that the terms can be a little confusing at times. I always tell my students that the computer field is 90% acronyms so if you learn them you have the rest pretty much whipped. LOL I also tell them they might as well get used to being a life long learner because the industry changes so fast it's hard for me to keep up.

I would suggest that you lookup the terms you don't understand in Google, as they say you can find out how to do almost anything in Google, you can also download a list of acronyms that might help.

As far as feeling old, I'm still not comfortable with twitter, snapchat, Inked-in and all of those millennial social media apps. but I guess we will have to learn them too as they say we should use them to get visitors to our sites.

What ever you do don't give up, when you do start understanding the terms and trying some of the lessons, you will be sailing like in a breeze.
I hope this has helped you, please feel free to ask me anything I might not know the answer but I'll do my best to help you find it.

Keep it going
Pierre

thanks for the sound advice. I need to slow down and realize that I'm just not as 'quick on feet' when it comes to learning anymore.
I just have to accept that fact and slow down

Pierre,
A nice note to share. One of 69 is younger than one of 73+. Sharing the thoughts on how to live a long happy life is my forte of lifelong professional passion as evidenced in www.ebettercare.com.

Your vast computer background should be my excellent guide to walk through e-marketing sphere besides whatever WA may offer.

Much appreciated,

Chin

Hi! Bill,
Sorry for intruding your chat with others - Pierre. A higher age of 77 brings me - 73+ - deep inspiration. Helping people live a long happy life has my professional forte of passion. To evidence what stated, welcome to www.ebettercare.com. As senior members, we together still can do these computer things to capture the sense of living in modern age and day.

I love to share life experience with anyone like you. Let us network for better future.

Best to health and success,

Thank you Pierre for the follow and many blessings to you here at WA. As a Premium Member you are probably aware of the AWESOME and FREE WA Keyword Tool we have unlimited access to.

This is the keyword research tool I have used exclusively after I became a Premium member 3+ years ago and it has helped me many times to find awesome keywords that have led to Google page 1 rankings.

I created very popular WA Training Tutorials, Part 1 and Part 2, on how to use the WA Keyword Tool for keyword research. If you have not seen it and would like to learn how simple it is to use and a little about keywords, click the below link when you have the time.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Pierre,

Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate (WA).

My name is Todd and I referred you here to Wealthy Affiliate through my website http://LearnToGrowWealthOnline.com

I hope you really enjoy WA and take time to check them out, there's a ton of training and great info here.

Absorb it like a sponge.

I personally started by taking classes one day at a time and then simply took action on what I learned.

The results?

I couldn't be happier with my online business.

I Make Money While I Sleep. It's Awesome!

That being said, before you start making money, there are three things you need to know.

1) Those who ask questions and interact with the community are far more likely to learn faster and meet their financial goals.

- Watch this video here to learn how to maximize your community reach at WA.. 2) You can get started learning how to make money by doing your Level 1 Certification Course. Click on the green "Get Started Here" button or just click this link.. .

This is the first course on the Wealthy Affiliate Entrepreneur Program, and the next best step you can take.

This is where I started my online business and I think you'll be pleased with the results.

3) Don't be afraid to ask questions. WA is a super friendly community, especially to newbies, so there are no dumb questions here.

Remember that you can ask any question you want in live chat, on your personal blog, or in the Getting Started Classroom here..

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/getting-started

I'm going to follow you and here's my Wealthy Affiliate profile if you want to contact and/or follow me back.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/tmaltz

You have everything you need here at WA to create a successful online business, you just need to take advantage of the education, community support, and TAKE ACTION on what you learn.

I wish you success with your online business and goals.
