This is basically a step back to the 70s where data is stored on a remote computer somewhere. Currently a Data Domain is the most powerful type of cloud storage. Its actually a room sized data array of physical drives. When I worked for IBM I got the chance to work on one moving terabytes of data from Orlando to Columbus at incredible speeds.

The three most used cloud storage options are Google Drive, Dropbox, and SkyDrive.

Google Drive includes Docs, Presentations, Spreadsheets and more. If your daily work involves utilizing the mentioned web tools, Google Drive would be the best for storing your data. It is furthermore important to remember that it is versatile since it can be used with Android, Windows, OSX, Linux and iOS. Google Drive can be appropriate for many plugins which is why a lot of its customers prefer it. Its pricing can be very competitive.

Dropbox is among the oldest companies that came set up immediately cloud storage has been introduced on the market. Its recognition has continued to cultivate ever since then and several folks have liked the services provided by Dropbox. It supports os's of both desktop computer systems and mobiles, making it considerably more flexible.

SkyDrive is incorporated with Windows, including Windows 10, and may also be utilized by people that use Microsoft Office. SkyDrive is backed by both desktop computers and tablets thus you may use it in your workplace or when on the road. In addition, SkyDrive also contains apps for iOS, Android and windows. Therefore, it is possible to access your documents on SkyDrive from wherever you're, provided you are linked to the internet

Thanks for post. Can you tell me which one is the best for storing videos?

I don't like to use the word best. however considering videos are large I would suggest going with an upsell on the Google Drive to 100 gig or more

OK. Thank you, I will check that.

Thanks for the post :)

Your blog answered my questions and I appreciate your taking the time to write this.

No Problem....

do you know if the docs created with something like google drive [and the others] can be stored on the computer or must they always be accessed with an internet connection/online?

they for sure can be stored on a computer sometimes to your great detriment. for instance my partner had an employee to move several thousand karaoke songs to a Google Drive shared among many people. at that time does Google Drive was set up to store a copy of everything on everyone's computer. well very few people have enough space on their personal PCs to have nearly a terabyte of data 2to suddenly appear. once I figured out what happened then fixing it became an entirely separate issue. but for sure the Google Drive then be set to store a synchronized copy on your physical machine.

I am using dropbox but have been considering changing. This information has caused me to want to search further

personally I use Dropbox. we have 30 terabytes of private cloud storage that we use company-wide. my wife is a college student and they all use Google Drive. as far as functionality they all worked.

Thanks
