It looks like WA is not for me

Doubts..

I don't see myself writing 1000/3000-word articles/posts. Does this mean this is not the place for me? My posts are usually under 100 words, and while they get indexed I was told because they are short they will never rank. What would be the point in staying here? In my case.

I would really appreciate feedback.

Blessings💛

"I don't see myself writing 1000/3000-word articles/posts"

Honestly, I never ever did either. My first posts were always like 400 words, at a push. Gradually I got traffic & made my first commissions... Then I thought, WOAH, I'm earning money, just from typing up these pieces of content?? It was sure as heck easier than labouring as an electrician, lol.

I later realized that for better rankings, longer content *typically* works better, and so I began focusing on producing longer posts, rather than producing many little ones.

If you can write ten 100 word posts, you can write one 1,000 word post :)

And remember, each piece of content, once ranked, could earn you commissions for MANY years to come. Literally one single piece of content I published has been responsible for over $50k in commissions. Crazy stuff.

But of course, if it's not your thing it's not your thing :)

Thank you so much.

I need to remember this.

Natasha,

In addition to my recommendation of reading all of Tiffany's WA blogs you MUST read ALL of Dale's.

Go to about mid-2018 on Dale's blogs and read about where he talks about when it all finally "clicked".

It's frickin' awesome.

This "guy" (hope you don't mind Dale) was just about ready to give up and then BOOM!!!

There is literally $$$$$$$ of information in his blogs ever since.

Partha

Thanks, Partha :)

This does seem daunting at first, but how many emails have we done, proposals, educational material, reports, etc. that we have done for our "9 - 5" that easily meet the 1000/3000 word article length? TOO MANY! :-) It can be done, we have done it before... we just never counted, or rarely counted just how long our content really was after we finished.

H Natasha,

I see I am a little late on posting here you have already decided to go premium. Congratulations on what I think is one of the best business decisions you will ever make.

When I first started out, with an e-commerce website, (many many moons ago) it took me over an hour for each item description (most were less than 100 words long) I felt mentally drained when I first set up my online store.

I was full of doubt thinking I can't write all this stuff, and how do I know if I am describing the different items well enough.

I had that store for almost 15 years and never receive any complaint from anyone saying I did a lousy job at describing any of the products I sold.

Fast forward to two and a half years ago, I found the WA platform, my first thought was I can't possibly write long blogs on a daily basis let alone one that is over 1,00 words long.

My very first blog (only 600 words long) on my MMO website took me (3) 8 hour days to complete the research, write the material, find images, and post it to my website. This was, by no means, a major achievement by any standards.

However, currently, it takes me roughly 3 hours to write a 3,000- 3,500 worded blog, which includes research time as well. I am not sharing this with you to try to impress you; but rather let you know if a stupid old ironworker can do it, so can YOU!

It is hard to believe that I have come so far with my writing abilities, often I receive compliments on how it has a natural flow to it, and I feel that I still have a long way to go before I consider myself as a good writer.

To help me write better, I act as if I am talking to you directly sitting across the table from me. When I do this it helps me achieve two major goals.

First I keep the literature on a simple level (I often find myself trying and using different vocabulary; it improves my thought processing), and for some reason, it helps the material flow from my head to the paper.

You made the right choice, you can learn to become an efficient writer if you really want to!

The WA community is here to help, when they can,

Calvin

Thank you so much, Calvin :)

I don't like long posts, when i first started I really struggled to write a couple of hundred words. Now 8 months later I can do 1000 words without a problem. I have a few blogs on my site with only a few hundred words, once i felt more comfortable with the writing I went back and added to them and they are now all over 1000 words. You can do this :-)

Thank you so much, Lisa :)

You are very welcome my friend 🌹

You've got some good answers here. Blogging isn't for everyone.

I think it could still be early for you, and you might get better results if you stick with it, but if you don't want to, you can try other options for getting people to know about your products or services, and making sales.

Blogging isn't the only way to get customers and sell to them.

Even if you have an affiliate product, you can get customers and sell the product other ways than blogging. Blogging is beneficial because it's low cost, it builds passive components over time, and there's so much incremental benefit. Like Roope said, Youtube marketing can have many of the same benefits.

You could go the route of trying to find ways to make blogging work for you: hiring help, getting transcription done, or using voice-to-text services.

You could also go a completely different route with your marketing plan. It depends on your budget and the amount of time you have to invest.

If you really want to run a business, you might have to be a little more out-of-the-box with how you'll get people to know about your business to sell your products or services. Maybe influencer marketing, PR, or paid ads might work for you. None of them are the easy route, but they might be options.

Hey Natasha,

I know I am potentially "someone you look up to".

Here's "potentially" the best bit of advice I can offer you.

Tiffany, is someone I "look up to".

Check out her WA blogs.

AMAZING!!

UNBELIEVABLE!!

PACKED FULL OF AWESOME MATERIAL.

Take your time, work your way through them (and obviously, always ask questions if there's something that you're not entirely sure of).

I'm sure either Tiffany or me will also have time to offer you a response.

But seriously, check out her content.

I'm saying NO MORE - it speaks for itself.

Partha

Very helpful suggestions. Thank you so much.

lol Yes, you are :)

Thank you so much.

Thanks so much for your kind words Partha! I really appreciate your feedback.

You have some good advice below. Ultimately it needs to work in your business. What are your objectives in being here? What are you seeking to achieve? How will you achieve these elsewhere?

An option, as suggested below is to break your blogs into blocks of 100 or so words and build them up over a few days. I do this. I often have 3 or 4 articles being written at any one time. I typically focus for 30 minutes or an hour on some reasearch on an initial outline and then build it up. Ideas occur to me later to add to them. Before long, I find the articles are quite lengthy. I check for SEO, edit, redraft, identify pictures etc., and then publish

Another option might be videos, but these would need to be embedded into pages along with ranking articles.

And as Bright Sales suggested below, what was the reason you joined WA in the first place? Try to reignite that passion. Affiliate Marketing is not a quick win, it requires consistency, hard work and committment. But there are many cases of success, so I would encourage you to stay. What are you seeking to achieve?

Best Regards,

Trevor

Thank you so much.
