New Week New Publishing Goals

A brand new week starting, perfect time for you to set those publishing goals for the current week. I showed you how to set your goals on the dashboard here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.co...

Motivation

There's still one week of my September challenge left and I've already achieved my goal of creating the habit of consistent publishing to one particular site, my health niche site. Once the goals are typed into the SiteContent dashboard our internal clocks start ticking too and the motivation is phenomenal to meet those targets. I've explained in previous posts why I did not set a huge target, just something to develop the habit and something that is reasonable for long term consistent content.

Results

Thanks entirely to the goal setting feature of SiteContent:

  • I have consistently built content to my health niche site at the rate of 3 articles a week
  • That has totally kept me in the zone regarding research and working on my site
  • And that has had a knock on effect of making me:
    • Tidy up site structure
    • Using the WA keyword tool consistently
    • Work on improving aspects of my posts like images, jump links
    • Taking extra training in here at WA provided by the members
    • And learning more about my theme

Habit

So three weeks in and one week left in the challenge and the habit is there already now - I'm going forward with the goals again for the final week and my head is buzzing with ideas for articles and pumped up for creating and tweaking and optimizing beautiful keyword rich content - and that is my biggest result - consistent publishing. Whatever you want to say about SiteContent, and we can all find things we like or don't like, it definitely works for habit building and meeting our publishing goals - and as content writers in content marketing / affiliate marketing, that is hugely important.

New goals set for week 4:

I've already explained in a previous post that week #2's goals are not missed but 2 hours late and SiteContent kicked my ass on that to get me earlier this week.

Mission accomplished, now to keep it going. And now that the momentum is going on this site, it looks like I'm already ahead for the coming week ;)

Write Status vs Research Status, Do the Stats Lie?

I have gained a new 'badge' of sorts along this journey with SiteContent, it is now telling me:

  • Write status is 5/5
  • I've written 100% more than other members at WA

HOWEVER it currently records our research notes, and unpublished articles - so honestly I think my 'Research Status' deserves a 5/5 but at only 13 articles printed [including templates and test articles for other sites] and almost 70 unpublished articles currently gaining me 'status' [and that includes any article written for the WA dashboard and not our site] I think our Write Status in SiteContent should be tied to our Published word count to our websites, and not all our words pumped through the system.

Your Turn

  1. Did you achieve your publishing goals last week?
  2. Did you set them inside SiteContent?
  3. What are your publishing goals for this week?

Wow,
Going to set my goal for the 3 days coming.

Great! Let us know how you get on with it.

Wow! Well done on achieving your goals!
Very motivating!

Thanks Juliet, how are your publishing goals coming along?

Staying motivated is what make we moved forward. Unfortunately we think one bad day is equal to a bad life.

So true! Got to keep the big picture in mind all the time, perspective - thanks for the great reminder :)

Great post, MozMary! I took a look at that a while back and forgot all about it. I'll go back and check it out for goal setting, etc. I had a goal of publishing 2 articles to my blog last week but couldn't get the 2nd one done in time to meet my goal on Friday. The topic I chose to write about was more involved than I thought! I'm trying to get it finished for today though. Thanks for the SiteContent reminder. Alanna

Congrats on getting them done even if a little over the time :)

Yes, sitecontent is particularly good for keeping us on track and will let us know when we are a few hours late! Best thing I've done in ages just committing for a month.

I really appreciate you publishing your experiences with SiteContent, for those of us who don't host at WA, it's incredibly helpful to see how an experienced member utilises it on a real-world basis. Thanks! :)

Thank you, Rich! Appreciated!!

Awesome layout of structure for goals. This really helps!! Thank you!!!

Really works for motivation - best of luck William!

I have already met my September goals and am starting on October goals.

Interesting way of looking at things! Giving me food for thought!

1 No. No goal set.
2. Just set goal yesterday.
3. 5000 words 3 articles.
I am 98% more than
Also level 5/5.

Awesome!

I am on the beginning of course and do not recall them saying anything about the sitecontent builder. Did I miss something?
The training was very specific and I skipped some parts I thought I understood.
What is this builder?
How is it effective?
Am I being silly for doing posts and pages through the sitebuilder?

Course 4. Sorry.

Hi Jacob, Kyle has weaved it into the training now, it's pretty new the past few months, he has a walkthrough and Carson has a blog on it too. If you skip steps in the training then it's easy to miss something really important, as he always drops nuggets in there when you least expect, best to fill in all those gaps.

It's brilliant for goal setting and motivation and getting you to publish consistently - that was why I used it, and I'm happy with that.

It's in the first version right now, they are planning an update to it that will allow us to put images in, right now they have to be edited on wp, so for that reason some people don't use it. I explain some of this in my previous posts, I included the links above, and they also include the links to Kyle and Carson's walkthrough.

Impressive Mary! All this and your WA ranking goals also!

I'm happy with the website goals ;)
