The September SiteContent Challenge, Set Your Website Writing and Publishing Goals
Help with Writing and Publishing to Our Websites
Did you know there is a content writing resource on the WA platform that allows us to set writing and publishing goals for our website, it is SiteContent.
It allows us to set goals and it keeps track of our progress, telling us how many words we've written and whether we are on target with our article and publishing goals for that day/week/month.
It's the start of a new month, a great time to set goals. I'm pumped up to pump out content for my website and set new goals for this month, this time using SiteContent to keep me on track
Spelling and Grammar Check
It has many other features including spelling and grammar check, this tempts people to want to go take content from their site and put it through SiteContent but really that sort of two way street is not recommended - best to create new content in the SiteContent then publish it to your site from there.
Articles Indexed in Google
As well as the motivation and personal challenge aspect, a feature I particularly like is it tells us when our posts/pages have been indexed in Google.
Updates Being Rolled Out to SiteContent All the Time
SiteContent has just updated to allow us to put in images and has a very sophisticated image platform with it now. Other updates will be rolled out in time, see Carson's recent blog on this https://my.wealthyaffiliate.co...
Writing in SiteContent vs Direct to Wordpress
I've tried writing direct into wordpress and loved it except my laptop keeps losing connectivity with the router so many times my content did not save - the sudden threat of losing your work is heart attack territory and though I've figured out a few ways to copy and paste and not lose everything, I can't be going through that stress every time I go to press update or publish while in wordpress. I've also used google docs, again image inserting is at the other side, and it's harder to keep track of my stuff in docs compared to SiteContent. Plus SiteContent publishes at the click of a button.
Motivation, Habit, Consistency = Google Juice and Improved SEO
Motivation and habit formation are some of the biggest challenges for consistent publishing to our websites, when really Google is rewarding sites that publish a minimum of 2-3 times a week, for good SEO.
Here is a snapshot of my current status within SiteContent:
My goal is to write 3 articles a week, in this niche approximately 1500 words per article, so that's 4,500 words per week - now instead of aiming for a month here, which would be that multiplied by 4, [an 18,000 words target with 12 published articles in the month], I'm actually going to set SiteContent to a weekly goal, which makes it look smaller [!].
First thing to do is click on View Statistics
Now you set the number of words/articles and choose the time frame, to do this simply click edit goal and the boxes will open up to let you put in number of words/articles. And to set the date just click on the calendar icon in the date, as in this pic
So look how I just edit the goals to 4500 words, and the date to next Friday Sept 8th, with a publishing target of 3 articles for Sept 8th too.
And every time I come in here to write, SiteContent is going to track and show me my progress in achieving the goals I set.

*Remember that if you miss the start of the month, then SiteContent allows you to make custom target times of dates, days or weeks, or any date you choose - the start of a new week, Monday, is always a good time too!

Thanks, Mary, I did watch the video previously from Kyle and I will watch the one from Carson this weekend. I have also bookmarked this post. I want to improve my website but I will get back to you on my goal for this month...I also want to take the challenge but still, a bit intimidated with lack of confidence in my writing skills....
There's an audience out there for everyone, your voice and view will appeal to a section out there, and practice makes perfect - lots of people report in here that their posts a year later are so much better :)
A really informative post, Mary thank you, I was just looking at site content yesterday it is a very powerful resource that has been added to our membership and one like you say that we can really benefit from I am liking the aspect whereby we can set targets for ourselves. Definitely looking at making September the month to crank out more content, thank you for the motivation, enthusiasm is infectious.
Hi Mary, allow me to say great article. I have been using SiteContent for a while and think it is a great and will recommend it. However, the imagery component is my missing piece. Regarding the Word or Google Docs comment of copy/paste, yes the text portion will work just fine, I have used it. At times, I write my comments here on WA and copy/paste in SiteContent. Online privacy "Intellectual Property" is still a big issue for me and should be for us all.
Kyle and Carsen have done a great work in the implementation and training process of the product and I commend them and those who assisted in labor to bring it forward.
Again, allow me to say great article. However, I will await the imagery component before going 100%. It is my hope that others could see the value in it for future use.
Thanks, JoeAnne! Love the 99% :)
Does word currently allow you to copy and paste images?
Yes, got to love the unique content check with SiteContent before publishing too, the boys really did put in a lot of thought into it for optimizing SEO.
It really is a motivator to meet goals once we write them down, that focus just kicks right in. Love that it is now on the writing dashboard instead of a page somewhere that gets lost! And I like that we can aim for personal bests too and it's all tracked. I had been holding out for images but I'm going to jump in now just for the habit building aspect alone. I love the organization of all the files and drafts as it is.
And it's interesting to see other people's stats and get a perspective on the business from that side of things too!
Than you for liking my 99%.
If you are asking if Word allow copy/paste imagery into SiteContent? No!
If you are asking if it will allow posting into your website? Yes. However, technical skills are required, but once done it could become a conveyor belt. However, this is for outsourcing to an expert.
Regarding the goal setting feature, yes that is awesome, for this platform and the educational process it is worth it and for convenience.
"SiteContent" it is a good tool and one that should be considered.
Trust this is helpful

Thanks so much - I will bookmark this
So many helpful members with valuable tips
Thanks, WA members
Regards Richard
I've tried using it but was more comfortable using Word. Your examples and enthusiasm are going to make me take another look.
Thanks, Debbie
That's great, Debbie! I wonder if copying from word into SiteContent would work? I haven't tried it, I'm thinking you still have to add images later in your website with word?
Writing down our goals is a sort of commitment, I can feel it working on me already :)

Site Content is a really cool tool and I use it for all my posts. But I have yet to set my writing goals.
That's great! Will be interesting to see if setting those goals makes any difference to your output, they say it does :)
