Google Page 1 inside two hours?!

I got a nice surprise tonight when the article I'd been working on all evening for a new site received the WA email notification:

"Awesome your content is indexed in google"

So I took a little peek incognito and it is actually on page 1 position 8 much to my surprise.

What is the secret sauce?

1. There's some basic setup Kyle shows us in the training, just a couple of things you should have in place for your site to be set up right and for google to find us easily - that is why he lays the training out the way he does even though people come in expecting it to be 'just another wordpress tutorial', but it's more than that.

2. Ultimately I know the content was very good on that article, it was over 2000 words of original work on a subject I can talk about and didn't have to research from other sites. And although I used Jaaxy to pick a nice low QSR keyword that was AFTER I wrote the article because honestly it throws me to always be looking at keywords when I actually have something specific I want to write about and it turns out I got ranked for a more competitive keyword this time anyway.

3. Pure luck and google love.

4. I did use internal links and a number of different affiliate links.

5. I didn't use google + or Fetch, it's broken on this site at the moment and I'll be hunting down some help on that tomorrow. I used Domw's tip of addurl which he wrote a blog on seeing as Fetch is messed up on this site.

It's nice to be sitting higher up than some of the founders of the program I wrote about and established sites promoting it lol. It is very encouraging to keep pumping out articles.

Update: this article immediately immediately made a sale of $250 @ 50% commissions, worth $125 to me. :D
