Niche Selection Example: Is it about following the money?

So today I got an email from an affiliate platform advertising $103.95 per referral to their courses. COMMISSION PER VISITOR WHO CLICKS AND BUYS!
- If I only made 10 sales I'd have over $1000!
- If I worked hard and got 100 people to click and buy I'd be rolling in $10,000!

But is it as easy as that? Well yes and no.
- Yes, if you had an audience and were able to communicate the subject at hand.
- No if you just jump into it for the money - who are you going to share your links with, what sort of website would you have if you didn't know what to write about? Maybe you could go round copying others but that ultimately won't win the day, google doesn't favor it and people can sniff out who knows and does not know their stuff
- But of course you could learn to master any niche if you were interested, and Nathaniell has given some guidance on that in one of his blogs, just go to his profile.
There's an Honesty in Content Marketing
This is one of the things I like about affiliate marketing and content marketers, there is an honesty to it. People who know stuff and help their audience are set up to get rewards. And though many people choose a niche they are not interested in for many diverse reasons, sometimes chasing the money, sometimes just finding their way, it is the ones who know their area who are most likely to succeed in getting the most sign ups.

I am familiar with this platform and know they have a wide variety of courses, one event last month was on herbalism and I did promote it, as it tied into my health niche and along the way I've also trained as a herbalist in a different tradition so that gave me a huge amount to talk about and share content-wise, and they had things to offer that I hadn't heard about before. Win win.
However the courses up this time even though they are very high traffic and very high commissions, take a look and see if they are something you know about, are passionate in. Would you be happy and enthusiastic writing long articles at least 3 times a week in these areas, because even though Shamanism is a surprisingly high traffic niche with a very targeted audience I know nothing about it and am not all that interested to do any research to feed a content-hungry website for google ranking going forward the next 6 months or more.

However, if you are into the Shamanism and Medicine Wheel niche, then you may be very glad to know about this event if you don't already. In which case hop over the Shift Network affiliate platform and sign up for this and that gives you links to all their courses.
**I haven't looked up the metrics on the Shamanism niche today but I know a very successful online marketer who started with that and I was astounded how many people viewed him on youtube with that niche.
A Niche for Everyone and but not just Anyone for every Niche!
And the second course they advertise as coming up is on Mysticism, but apart from not being personally interested, spirits and stuff like that freaks me out so while very many people are into that, it would be best for me to seek out other programs and there are many other programs out there.
We often hear we should choose a niche we are passionate about, then we hear we should do some metrics, and magistudios has a training on that where he looks at traffic and keywords and calculations combined with passion and these are very good examples. No point chasing $103.95 in a niche you know nothing about and haven't the passion or interest to pursue. There's plenty more out there.
Here's magistudios training on how he selects a niche, but whereas he deep dives on numbers, and talks about realism vs optimism, there are a couple of different approaches to niche selection and what Kyle says in the training is true - a niche is an audience, and if you are passionate about something and communicate it then you can make any niche work.

*The name of the platform doing the 'spiritual' type courses and events is The Shift Network, for those already interested in that area.
