How trustworthy the ubiquitous AI Overview
Every question I pump into google recently has turned up an AI overview with totally inaccurate information
Unfortunately, you may already need to know the answer to what you are asking in order to spot you've been misinformed with a lot of twaddle...
A simple obvious example, AI synopsis about the series Professor T when asked why it ended so badly - AI got the main character's name wrong [confusing Tempest for Teerlinck] and total misinformation about 'his love interest'....AI basically told a completely different story [Belgian vs Ben Miller]....
Another simple example might be to ask it what is safe for pigs to eat...the AI overview is a conflicting mix of various accounts stolen from various unnamed sources and totally out of context...but if you didn't already know that, would you just 'believe' what is so-called safe and unsafe for them to eat...i.e. a load of misinformation denying your piggy friends lots of safe foods
Every question I asked was the same standard of twaddle, in any niche and if I didn't already know the answer, then it was tempting to 'trust' the AI overview - that makes no logical sense except that in everything google human nature will make compromises for convenience, and google knows that already....but all this is especially serious when it comes to health information...standards just as low there too...
I have been away some years with other projects so dunno yet what is being taught and discussed in here on AI...the whole online scene has changed so much, not sure it had to as I had a very successful 'dream site' the 'old' way but closed it for ethical reasons, the misinformation being spread in the health niche by all sides all of whom seek to keep control of information and make money, even before AI gets its mitts on it....and when lives depend on it...hm...not for me. I took a university course during covid arguing successfully against scientists spreading misinformation too, seems everyone is keen on misinformation no matter where these days....But looking forward to starting over [eventually] online and seeing what WA has to teach this time round in a totally new online world! I have noticed university courses still offering the 'old' stuff WA used to teach at incredible prices...

Mary,
It is great to have you back. Good luck with the improvements on the platform. I have recently returned and found it much easier this time around.

Thanks Jerry! That is interesting that you found it easier on returning - so many very big changes both on the platform and the entire online world!! Great to see familiar faces though!
There may have been many changes but the educational aspect for me is so much easier.

Nice to hear from you Mary!
Lots and lots has changed, and AI is here to stay. But like you say Google is providing an AI overview, and many people don't read beyond that, many do. So there is still viability for content creation, which is also assisted with AI now, but at the end of the day it is helping you curate better content (if used properly).
And outside of the SEO world there is lots of opportunity, and we are tackling all of the different facets of "what works now", from social media platforms, user generated content, email marketing, youtube, ppc, AI, etc.
It is a good time to reset, start fresh, and with the training environments we have coming you are going to be able to sink into any facet of the online business world. ;)
Thanks Kyle! Congrats on keeping ahead of the game, if someone wants to learn how to get online this platform is and always was the way to do it!

Hi Mary, The years fly by so fast I don't even know how long I've been here. I hang on most times by my fingernails but I'm still hanging on too.
