Google is listening and recording your conversation
Few days ago, I was chatting with my wife about something and few hours later, I checked my emails and found the content relevant to our conversations were in advertisement in the sidebar.
Although, there were phones and laptops in the room but I did not search relevant terms on the web.
It was a bit scary to see as if somebody was listening to our conversation.
Now a news came out today.
Google’s been quietly recording your voice. Voice & Audio Activity, you help Google recognize your voice and improve speech and audio recognition
How to find and delete your recordings
- Log into history.google.com
- Click on the hamburger icon on the top left of the page
- Go to “Voice & Audio Activity”
- Scroll through your list to see all the silly things there is audio proof of you asking about
- Click on one of the squares to select a recording to delete
- Stop using the voice function if you don’t want to listen to yourself again in the future
I doubt that it has been just limited to recording, this has been used to advertise stuff as well.
Be careful and switch off the recording function, if you donot want Google to abuse it.

I have no idea what you're talking about. (I'm not very technical.) Are you saying that just by using Google search engine, you're also being audio recorded automatically?
Me neither. Even if you not using search engine. It's feels weird but personally feel devices have something to do with it. Just personal experience.
What kind of devices do you use that you think causes Google to record you without you previously knowing?
I don't mean the brand, but what type of devices do you use that could enable Google to record you without your authorization? (I only have a basic computer, monitor, keyboard and mouse, and no further devices.)
I couldn't find them either, possibly a different version of google in different regions?
their version of "split testing" perhaps?
I remember facebook rolling out features in a geographical manner, continent by continent rather than the whole world at the same time.

I have none in the left corner, on the right side however, there is no "Voice & Audio " option. And he didn't get back with us. Maybe it's somewhere in Win 10...no idea.

Thanks for this I will check it out. Since I do some work with Garage Band I may have been recorded more than what I wanted.

Yes we are being watched and marketed to. Been this way for a while I think. They have tracked us and know exactly what to advertise to us. No getting around it. As they are King of the jungle.
Well I guess if we don't use them, and hide our ip from everyone. Then we could go in peace..To a point.
But not just them. Others will always be doing this. We ourselves can leave tracking pixels. So that others see our advertisements and pages as well.
Until the government figures out a way to step in, the internet will always be a risky place to set up camp.
Yes, I understand. If you are searching and get relevant advertisements, that makes sense but listening and targeting like this is scary.
