Don't Forget The Video

I don't know if you know this but I thought it was an important enough piece of information to give it a mention here. As I am sure you are already aware, Google owns YouTube. What you may not know is that just like G+, Google includes YouTube videos in search. On top of that YouTube itself is one of the most widely used platforms for search outside of Google itself.

Why is all this important to you and what is the take away? What I have recently learned is that if you create a blog post and then create a video about what you just posted and upload that video to YouTube. It increases the SEO power back to your blog. If you embed that video on your website you increase it even more. When you post the video and the link to your blog post on G+ with relevant and searchable hashtags you increase it even more.

So don't forget the video. It is important and it will make your blog a lot more searchable and increase your page rankings. Vimeo is great but when was the last time you saw a link to a Vimeo video included on a Google search? Also, when you post to Youtube make sure you are using good keywords so that your video is that much searchable. Don't know how to make videos? WA has a ton of training about how to make videos. Don't procrastinate on this. I did and now I am extremely sorry and irritated with myself. Just do it for the SEO power if for no other reason.

Thanks for sharing! This was new to me!

Thank you - I've been very busy, but need to put that on the top of the list!
What program do you use to do your videos?

I use Microsoft expression and Microsoft Live Movie Maker

I am actually in the process of taking these steps. It is a great point and just to let people understand the power of youtube videos linking back to your article, I have a company that I have generated a LOT of sales for over the past few months. They personally reached out to me and requested that I do a youtube review and link it back to my original review, as they know the power that it holds. Also, some of those companies will even share or distribute your video to be a part of their testimonials or promotions, too. It's truly a win/win. I will let you know how it goes, when all is said and done, but YES, youtube is sometimes a forgotten SEO goldmine!

Good information! :)

Thanks for sharing that.

Thanks for sharing your experience, great advice!

I didn't know. Thanks for sharing this. Joze

never thought of that thank you for bringing it up, I need to work on a video

The other thing you can do is use existing You Tube videos that may be related to your topic on your site. There is no restriction on that. So, if you are intimidated by the idea of creating a video, see if it may have already been done for you!

Absolutely true, but I would add a considerable amount of your own written content as well. I do think, however, you should be doing your own. They don't even have to be that good. I would just start doing it.

YES! So true. Thanks for sharing this
