I can add the link, but it doesn't show the article preview. It seems like a dumb problem, maybe my theme doesn't allow it? Astra is the theme. So much trouble with wordpress..

Hi
There are two ways to add the link to your video.
first, on the page or the post, and the video will appear on the post or the page.
You can add the link by add media from the tool above on the page or the posting page.
If the theme support, you can try this: just write the link on the page or the post. Usually, the video will appear automatically. (Astra Pro)

Second, from the customize panel, find the widget and add the video widget. You can add video with insert from URL or directly upload the video. And this video will appear where the widget provided by the theme. It can appear on the sidebar, on the footer, or somewhere that widget provides. (Astra have 7 areas)

so frustrating, I did add video links to 5 widgets, saved them, but the widgets don't show up anywhere. Thanks for the help though.

Hi,
I'm sorry. It's a great theme. Usually the plugin influence work of the theme.

Maybe you need to ask for help from the support site. Go to the website on the leftside>support site
or
you can ask for help from Astra.

If you go to your site manager and click the "SitePlus+" option on the right of the screen you will get a drop down of of three items to improve your functionality. The second one refers to the SSL security. Switch that on and you should be OK.

SSL is what gives you the "https" at the beginning of your URL, rather than the standard "http".

SSL is already on... but site speed is off, do I need that on?

Site speed is not a factor for site authentication.

Sorry, I am not trained in the details of site security and if you have the SSL already on then I would be referring to the helpdesk.

I have all three functions switched on just because they are available. Site speed is more important for the visitors' experience. Dolf.

That case and knowing your techie skillz contact site support. It might be some tech thing due to upgrading the servers which is happening just now.

I"m gonna... SSL is already on. Do I want site speed on? That is currently off.

ok

I had the same problem. Site support fixed it for me - they are awesome

You're the 3rd or 4th person to mention this problem. Open a ticket with Site Support (Help Center > Site Support). They should be able to get this resolved for you quickly.

ok, will do!

What things specifically lower your rank in WA? I've seen mine go from 200,000 plus to 43,321 now. Blogs? Training? Questions? Just curious...

Don't focus so much on your rank - it really means nothing at all. It is only a measure of how active you are in the community here

Two excellent responses below. You can click on the blue number under your rank, then hit the "learn more here" icon and it will take you to this link by Kyle. Rank is nice but it don't put any money in the bank.

Making a living, making a difference.

Hi - it depends on your level of activity within WA. This includes asking and answering questions, participating in Live Chat, welcoming new members, writing blogs and training etc. It is nothing to do with your website and has no perks or bonuses.

The ranking in WA doesn't mean that much. It only tells you how much you engage in this community. How often you log in, how often do you answer questions, how often are you in live chat, how many trainings do you have, how often do you blog. All those things put you higher in ranking.

My ranking went up a lot this week, because I was helping out in live chat a lot. But it basically tells me that I've spend too much time in here and too little on my website, haha ;-)

Thank you!

That is hitting the nail on the head.
