Thoughts for the day-ambassador traits
I have oft times pondered on the term "ambassador" occasionally as used here in our community. It probably was selected with the global reach of the community in mind.
Such a title brings to mind the world of diplomacy. Best represented in the US by the Department of State and interaction with foreign representatives!
Such traits can be mapped to marketing and business characteristics that we represent as a fundamental business as well. Such traits should be practiced by every member in the community from the top 200 and on. Of course one must first be active in some degree and not just a number on the rolls. Once active the following traits in ascending order should be part of our daily character.
- Reliable - Deliver on promises made to answer questions or research information
- Team Player- Pull for everyone in the community in a supportive and collaborative role
- Professional - Be representative of a perceived contributing member
- Inventive - Connect the dots, think out of the box and be innovative
- Timely - Be quick and accurate to perform tasks and current in your content
- Extroverted - As a member of a global interactive community one should always reach out to help and clarify issues
- Flexible - Things constantly change and you must change with them
- Technically Adept - Use the best fonts and themes in presenting your articles and contributions in your sites
- Clean - Although this is written for the face time business world, your appearance shows up virtually in your work. Make sure grammar and format are presentable
- Passionate - The highest ranking trait on the list. You bring a rechargeable dedication to every interaction you perform

Although the ranks are earned, they are also a trust. Those in the top ranks should exemplify the traits you have outlined.
What I question is this: I joined WA sometime in the middle of September. In about two months, I made top 200. Don't get me wrong, I am happy about that.
I've heard our community is in excess of a million people. How does a person get that high a ranking in eight weeks? I am not an anomaly. It looks like anyone who works at it can get similar results.
Part of the answer lies in the fact people can join free. There must be many who get disinterested quickly. Too bad. I've been around a long time and I've never seen an opportunity quite like this one.
