Slowing down for discovery

I have been slowing down and exploring various elements that will enhance our presentations and discoveries here.

The following address is a great source for free instruction and prompts in using Canva. I have been going to Canva and having problems understanding how to use it. You just get the basic platforms and templates. "How to" instructions on use however does not appear.

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=using+canva

The key to unlocking this "in plain sight" data is You Tube! Old "help" functions and instructions for use normally associated with an application such as Canva now live in separate programs such as You Tube!

This tutorial gives information on use of free vs paid (watermarked) versions and the ability to select each. You also get an infinite amount of needful data ;

  • type of social media to engage
  • images
  • layout type
  • generating text
  • fonts
  • size
  • colors
  • keywords to bring up images

enhancements such as

  • alignment
  • spacing
  • illustrations
  • image fitment
  • cropping
  • design and printing ability of:

- your personalized forms

- your business presentation forms

I'm in the process of creating some designs and loving it. Everyone should branch out from just creating textual content and enliven their experiences here in this great university and life development laboratory!

Hi Mike, this is so helpful and motivating, many thanks! Sue :)

Have heard of Canva.
Thank you Mike for reminding me of this tool.
YouTube is a great way of learning new things, indeed.
:-)

Best way when you open Canva Mike, is to immediately set your dimensions (W x H) on the top of the screen. Then start uploading images from your computer, and it will usual automatically save them. The rest is very intuitive. Just play around with it!

Thank you Kaju!

Thanks, Mike. Great information. I like Canva, but like you had some difficulty in using all the features of it. Thanks for sharing the link.

Thanks, Mike, I will dive into this immediately. Good tutorial

Very cool Mike!! Jay personally used my Logo idea as an example in his class for creating a logo with Canva! I was surprised!! Then I took it and tweaked it a bit to give it my own flair! Turned out pretty cool. My mascot is a lady bug (no surprise, I know) ;) and the words "LadybugLove"... no surprise again!

Are you having fun with it?

Cool beans!

I'm going to check it out I have heard about Canva .. I've been making some little YouTube videos myself on the program called videoscribe

Important bit Mike. I'd like to read more and know how it works out.

Thanks for sharing, Mike!
I will follow suit.
