Feelin' a Little Frustrated
I am in the threads a lot, as I am working like crazy to get content in place while other things fall into their own place. For the most part when I visit sites, I always post something positive, if not lengthy, hoping others will do the same for me.
I can't tell you how many times I click on a link at the top a thread in which someone has put up a "new post" only to find that I have already been to that exact post and left a comment.
It's a little different when the link takes you to a rolling blog, but still when you drop a link in the forums you should provide the direct link to the post you want a comment to. Other people are just as busy as you are, trying to get their own site rolling, so they shouldn't be expected to hunt down the post that they think you are needing comments on. These people are doing you a favor so you should make it as easy as possible for them to help you.
When I land on one of those sites, I just choose the most recent and hope that is the one you are needing some community support on.
The above doesn't even mention the most frustrating part. What boggles my mind is that when I click the link someone has provided, realize that I've read it before and scroll down to the bottom, there are no comments shown at all!
This means one of two things. Either the site owner is not monitoring the comments and allowing them to post, or doesn't like the comments they are getting and again not allowing them to post. The latter doesn't seem to be realistic because you can modify any comment to your liking, and any comment will help your site appear to be active.
For the love of Pete people, get in there and monitor your WordPress comments so they can help your site.
And for those of you leaving links, please try to leave us a direct link to your post, so its not so much of a guessing game.

I'm guessing that's the difference between those who lean on everything they do to make sure its completion will have the desired effect, and others who simply go down a 'to do' list - ticking off things as they're completed.

Yea, I get that, I don't do anything to the mediocore level. No holes barred when I make up my mind to do something.
Yeah, I know what you're saying. Side note: Rant: I have gotten my share of useless comments though. What I typically do is change the comments and edit your own one :)
I always leave quality comments so you can trust that I will always return the favor too :) Keep working at it :)
