I was just curious since I am at that point with my site where my whole focus is on drawing traffic. What has your best traffic strategy been. Maybe we can learn from one an

Content is king, of course. Write engaging unique content and then share it out. So, after I write, I promote each article heavily on my social media platforms. I get over 100 visits a day just from Twitter.

Yes content is definitely king. Most people (including me) forget to promote after writing. I read one of Neil Patel's posts where he says he puts 75% of his efforts (I hope I got that number right) into promoting his content. Something I need to start doing too! Thanks.

Yep, exactly!

Well for me forums are just days of enless discussions that go nowhere same as all the social options - I think that to blog three times a week will draw traffic also have just done two videos and a leader 80 views after two days

Waiting on that next video bro! ;-)

Number three will be made tomorrow

Awesome. Video is something I haven't tried yet. Thanks for the tip Paul.

I was just curious and would like to know what everyone's opinion is on this. Do you think your site would perform better if you wrote shorter posts but posted everyday, or if

I post 4 to 5 times a week with 600 to 800 words and I am still at 100%

I have a mix you can test it out and see which one attracts more attention it is about the quality of the content and relevance

Good question. This was the subject of a previous post and the consensus was - short posts are more likely to be read through provided your thoughts can be clearly conveyed.

A number of contributors mentioned that they word count and sometimes use padding to reach their target word count.

I think the answer is - it depends on how good a writer you are. Some writes can grab your attention and carry you through to the final full stop with no problem regardless of the word count.

I am a believer in quality content as for the periodicity, It is important to keep a constant publishing schedule for your blog. For example, if you choose to publish only once a week you should publish your content every chosen day (ex: every Monday if this suits you).

Thanks! Makes sense.

Write what ever works for you - consistency is the key so that readers know what to expect and when.

Shorter posts by themselves struggle to rank unless you are a really well established site, but add videos or other relevant media to improve your chances.

Older advice will tend to say 500 words or more but this is from a time when blogs were typically only 200-300 words so 500 was considered a longer post. Nowadays 1,000 is pretty standard and has replaced the 500 word advice.

such great advice. I have really been struggling with the 1000 words on a particular site. I find the topic boring and repetitive and felt like I could write more frequently if It didn't have to be so long :(

Quality every time, no matter how long :)

Yes! Yes! Yes! Quality makes a great difference. Thanks JudeP!

The ones in the know will tell you that it isn't the length of a post, it is the quality. Some also say to vary the length of posts. What I have heard over and over is that content, quality content will bring the public to your site.

Jude is one of those in the know members!!!

Thanks! Great tip. I would like to be good with Google too otherwise, sometimes I feel on certain topics, less would be more engaging to my visitors.

There are some topics you just can't make more than 500 words. It is silly to try and pad an article with other stuff, readers will notice.

Very true. Will definitely keep this in mine when writing! Thanks again.

my mentor here at wealthy affiliate recommended the 2nd option. I have written 1-2 shorter posts (below or around 500 words) and 1 longer - above 1350 words. Not sure which one would rank better as I still do not rank :)
But it is a good question and I will keep an eye on the answers.

Thanks for responding. I hear the same thing, I just wonder is sometimes I can get away with less content - Lol!

well I think that content is always king but if the post is longer I think it would rank better in google. What I've been told is: "try to help your users the best way you can covering all you think is relevant". So maybe with that in mind and trying to cover all the angles, the longer post comes out naturally. We'll see :D
All the best to you :)

After everything that I learn about building my website is content, Some experts says publish content 2 a week with more words over 1000-1500.That's sound pretty good, But some experts bloggers say you can post less word of 500 this is better. It confusing and there are a lot of members here in WA that write content of 3000 or more. But I just write my content in the best way possible. Sometimes is it's shorter and more frequently in other cases sometimes my content is longer and it may a take a couple of days to publish, Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Anthony - great advice. Follow your gut eh? I guess that's just what I'd do :)

You're welcome I would say take time,
