Are You Maximizing The Benefits of Site Comments?
With the new comers - and not so new comers in mind, I decided to write this post about my favorite feature here on WA, Site Comments.
I have been using site comments since I started my websites. I know most of us try to get comments for free, but while It is possible to request free comments on the discussion pages, and hope that someone responds, Site Comments guarantees that someone will respond. Of course, here you get rewarded for your efforts. The more comments you offer the more you receive.
While this may all sound pretty simplistic. I don't think we are all using this feature as much as we should. A few or us definitely are, but many could do better.
Here Are Three Benefits Of Site Comments That I have Found So Far:
1. We help each other. Like everything else on WA, we help one another by making positive and relevant comments on each other's websites. Site comments gives us an opportunity to visit one-another's website; and apart from offering comments, we can sometimes see things (like typos) which you may want to alert the web-author to. At other times, you can offer feedback or try to connect with the author here on WA by following them.
2. I enjoy reading so many different topics online. Today, I found a Kale smoothie recipe that I actually put to use. I read about a family by the mountains and unconventional religions. So many topics - I feel blessed to see this many windows to the world!
3. For the obvious reason it was created - search engines love to see activity on our websites, and we use comments to show such activity, to show interest and make our websites more credible, we get rewarded by improved rankings!

Hey Mimi- I was going to use Site Comments then chickened out lol. Well, my site is not ready but the craziest thing happened someone left me a message and I freaked out! One because I can't even find it on Google and two it says anonymous and three it stated Illinois, hmmmm....and I haven't told anyone I am doing this yet. First I am waiting for success :) Well, with that being said and you have been there for me and given me great advice, I am going to jump in and use it today, might as well. Plus JasonHeard (which is awesome) did find a spelling mistake in my domain name smh, horrible...so having other review your website it imperative! Thanks for the motivation and push :)

Great reminder, thank you for this post. I actually use both: site comments and the community and they have all been effective.
You are right that site comment offers a guaranteed visit, however given that it is two site comments to one visit/comment on the post, using both methods gives me lots more visitors and also helps me to build relationships with people.

Hi there. Chucka! Nice to meet you here on WA and thanks for your comment . I do agree and use both methods too. I just have received better results with Site Comments. I have often heard comments about the two-for-one feature on site comments and like everyone I wonder "where do the other half of our comments go?" But think about the alternative. In the real world the only comments you get on young websites are spam! So Site Comments definitely works for me.
