Moving my site from WA to another host using WP Clone
I've just moved my siterubix site to another host with my own domain .
I've not had any problems with the WA hosting, just wanted to keep all my sites together. I already have a hosting package and some domain names there. Also my e-mails there allow me a little more control. It's a personal preference nothing against WA.
I used the "WP Clone" plugin.
It worked quite smoothly with only a couple of minor issues -
1. Some odd characters were added to my content (’ and â) throughout the site. Does anyone know why? Perhaps just a glitch. A careful proof read soon sorted that. Especially as in the edit pages the characters were underlined as errors, except when standing alone.
2. I forgot that after copying the cloned site I forgot that the login details would be changed from those I'd set on the WP site just created to the one previously set when created in WA.
So WP Clone plugin worked well, just remember to
1. give your site a thorough proof read.
2. Don't forget the Login details
3. Remember to amend your new address in your Privacy policy if you have changed the domain name.
Here's my site - http://liveinfreedom.co.uk/ Please give me a shout if you notice anything I've missed :-)
I will still keep the siterubix site as a building / experimental workplace to test out new things.

Congratulations, Mike! Glad it went off without any major hitches! I just moved my site as well, and overall, not a terrible process.

I need to move my owned site out of WA to another host & ive asked the question of several people with no response. I need to cancel my membership but do not want to lose the work on my site. How do I move it?
read the instruction from Marion Black - Cancel Wealthy Affiliate Membership and Stop Billing
Yes I know but I'd like to move my sites first
The best thing is to save all the content first, each and every post you have written on a document file.
At least you will have the content. Also, some Hosts are being able to transfer the whole website, like the platform "Just Host" I know they also support WordPress sites.
My advice, I would ask the new Host of your choice if you can transfer your whole website creation and follow their instructions.
But first, save all your written content.
This is all so far I can give you of help.
Good Luck
Thank you! I think I'll have to save everything & then cancel with WA & when I'm ready to create another site (outside of WA & with another host) then I have the content I work hard to create. Thank you!
You are welcome :)
All the best to you
