Everyones Journey Is Unique - Enjoy The Ride
I am almost a month into my WA premium membership and boy it's been a roller coaster. Feelings of elation when getting started, frustration when I've not been able to input more time and effort and even anger when I've found myself procrastinating or staring at a blinking cursor on a blank white screen.
I've learned a ton of skills that will serve me well later on in my journey and I am proud of what I have achieved in my first few weeks, trying on the shoes of an internet marketer.
What was your first month like? How did you feel?
Building an online business from scratch without any prior knowledge of the industry is a major operation. One that demands a lot of time, effort, sacrifice and persistence. We all knew this when joining WA, yet sometimes we forget and expect instant results.
Reasons To Be Cheerful
Enjoying the little victories like your website going live, or when you publish your first post, or even your first "comment" on your website, are all exciting feelings! These are the things that boost your motivation and help you catch your second wind.
There's so much to look forward to and so many milestones to reach, yet I feel a burning frustration that I'm not there yet or that I'm falling behind. But, with the help of the WA community, it's easy to put things into perspective and realise that this is my journey, which means it's unique.
Remembering Why You Started
We all started our journeys at WA for our own reasons and many of us have set goals. For me, I'm just as excited about publishing my next post as I am about earning my first sale. Experience has taught me that goals are great, but not if they're too rigid and don't allow for some wiggle room.
I cannot wait to see what the next month and the remainder of 2019 has in store for me and my business. Whatever happens, I know I'll have the support of my network and newly found friends here at WA.
Don't Just Look Forward
Apologies, I just so happened to have taken my family to watch the latest installment of Toy Story and it served as a timely reminder of what the affiliate marketing business model is all about - serving others before yourself.
We are extremely lucky that the byproduct of helping others solve their problems is that we get emotionally and financially rewarded. It sounds really cold when written in black and white, but isn't that why we began our journey in the first place?
The next time you face a struggle or achieve another goal with your training or your business, share with WA and help the next person dust themself off or reach another milestone.

Great advice on goal setting Mike! I'm definitely guilty of becoming too focused on the end result, and forgetting the reasons why I went into all of this in the first place. Good to be reminded like this! Thanks!
Thanks for you response James, much appreciated. Frustration is my biggest enemy at the moment, but perspective helps me remain calm!
I love this, as I joined a similar time to you. So seeing your journey is almost a reflection of mine. it has been a lot harder work than I thought. I have dedicated every spare minute I could, but as a mum (as you know) sometimes that is hard.
Our journeys are all individual and unique, we each have to go at our own pace, and milestones and celebrations will come at different times. I too look forward to posting about my first sale. Or No 1 ranking on google or yahoo/bing) then we will know that all that hard work has paid off.
For now I am just enjoying the journey : )
Thanks Sara, glad you liked it. It is difficult and frustrating when you plan to dedicate X amount of time to a task only to have it taken away again.
Here's to the journey!
My children are losing patience now, and when I sit at my laptop to start writing, my daughter sits there burning her eyes into me looking sad 😔 lol
Reading about other people's success or struggles helps us all to continue in htis journey.
Congrats on your achievement and I wish you all the best!

I'd say you have your priorities right. Spending time with your family is so important, even if summa' the tasks you had hoped to accomplish need to be set aside for awhile. We can always return to add whatever is needed to our business, but this moment with family will never again present itself. You have a beautiful family. I'm so glad that you recognize the importance of attending to all areas of your life in order to make the whole picture... perfect.
Hi Yaya, time with the family is so valuable when the kids are growing up so fast. Before you know it they're onto the next stage of development. I guess it's about finding the right balance between that and working on the business for me.
Oh and thanks for your kind words about the family!
