Thank you, Mikael! I didn't know you could put things in that would always be in the video description. That will be helpful. I also liked the outline thing that will make chapters. That would be helpful too, especially when life happens and someone has to leave and not finish the video, they could easily go back to where they left off!

Thanks again, so helpful!

Karin

Glad it helped.

Thank you for the very helpful video, Mikael, it's appreciated.

I have never added the timestamps before to a YouTube video, I'm going to give it a try.

The default settings also looks like a good timesaver.

Have a great day.

Roy

Thanks Roy. Glad it helped.

I'm still on the fence with adding links and timestamps...

Right now I'm trying to put the links right at the top of the description (as well as pinned comment). Do you think you really have to have short description first?

Second thing is timestamps... I like building curiosity. For video retention, do you not think it's best to keep people in suspense instead of giving away the entire plot right away?

Interested in your thoughts! Cheers Mikael!

About adding the links above any description, that can also work. It probably will not make too much of a difference SEO-wise. As long as it makes sense for the users.

As for the time stamps, I understand your point. But there is also the risk that people get annoyed if they can not get an idea about what the videos will be about and then just skip it completely. Then it is better the at least watch some parts. Personally, I have started to hate watching videos that do not have timestamps as it makes it a lot more user-friendly.

In addition to that, the timestamps also get indexed on Google, and that is why you sometimes see videos in Google results with all the chapters showing for specific KWs, which gives a lot of extra attention.

So, in my opinion, the pros outweigh the cons by far.

I hear what you're saying. I might start adding timestamps then and see what happens. Cheers mate!

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you. I appreciate it 😀

Thanks. Glad you like it.

Hi Mikael, thanks for sharing. Could you share how to create youtube time stamp? Thank you.

I explain how to do that in the video above at around 1:48

Hi Mikael, I appreciate you bringing that to my attention. Since I'm unfamiliar with creating YouTube videos, I initially didn't grasp how it works. Thanks again for this helpful video.

Happy to help.
