New YouTube Feature (YouTube Courses)
YouTube has recently released a new feature called YouTube courses. It is similar to playlists, but it is a way for creators to offer more structured learning environments on YouTube.
So far I have not tested it for long, but is looks interesting and as something worth testing and keeping an eye on.
In this short video, I will show how to set it up and explain a bit more about it.
Let me know in the comments below if you have access to this feature yet?

Certainly seems like an interesting new feature Mikael....
Appreciate the headsup here my friend! :-)
Thanks Mikael!
While it makes sense that YouTube is jumping on the knowledge commerce bandwagon, I don’t see it becoming popular anytime soon.
Why?
Because it’s not substantially different than playlists of just watching educational videos which is 97% the reason why folks go to YouTube in the first place.
YouTube will need to educate their audience and viewer to shift into watching (what they are already watching) into a ‘watch a course’ mindset.
So will YouTube be successful in altering behavioral patterns of watching and learning from videos? Time will certainly tell
Good points.
They have just recently added some more info to make it clearer that it needs to be different than a playlist with a clear structured learning path, but yes, it will be interesting to see if people will like YouTube for that or not.
Thank you Mikael, I don't have this feature yet but I think this is REALLY interesting to start building the personal brand!
And it solves a problem I always had with Youtube: the fragmented pieces of informations shared in disconnected videos. In this way, a person can follow a guided path more easily!
Hope to have it soon!
Interesting Mikael, be interesting to see how this plays out. If they start incorporating a "paid courses" element, I have a feeling they are going to alienate a large % of their user base that expects the content to be free...with ads.
Thanks for sharing here!
Yes, will be interesting to see how this will be used in the future. Will make an update if I find some interesting results after having tested it for a while.
Looks like they will be a combination of free and paid. And, if YouTube thinks a playlist provides "in-depth, structured learning experiences" it may mark that playlist as a course on your behalf.
It does say they're experimenting and this is only available to a select group of creators at present.
