in memoria
This is Memorial Day weekend in the United States. A lot of us get together with our families, cook out, and spend time enjoying each others company. I ask that we all take a little time to think of those who have given the greatest of sacrifices to give us the safety and freedom to enjoy our lives in such ways. I have personally lost many brothers and sisters that I once fought beside, I live my life today for them, because I know that they have given me a gift and I want to use this gift to honor them the best way that I can. That is why this weekend I am displaying my beloved Eagle Globe and Anchor symbol and I am writing this blog post. I would also like to invite our international friends to reflect on their national heros and honor them as well, after all, we are all just one big family known as humanity.
Sorry for the solumn entry, but I must remember my friends. Thanks for reading.

Great post :-) Thank you for your service, and for all military who have served/ are serving... lest we forget. I will be remembering all of those men and women, I always attend a Memorial Day service here locally, and fly the american flag at my house. It only takes a moment to honor all who sacrificed for your freedom. Too often people are too busy celebrating a long weekend to take a moment to do that :-( it makes me sad. I also will be remembering my grandfather ( who has passed away) who served in the Army ( the Big Red One) during WW II, my dad who served in the Marines during Vietnam and my brother who served in the Marines , two tours in Iraq... I am very lucky as all my soldiers returned home...
thank you for this post, you have found a great way to honor all of your fellow servicemen and woman :-)
