Just Looking for Quick Opinions
What do you think?
So, I've been looking at replacing my theme because of the site speed issues and I bought GeneratePress and have been playing around with it today.
Just for kicks I used Elementor to try to replicate, as close as I could, my main page. Because I'm using the free version of Elementor I know the image slider doesn't have the text over the images and that kept me from overlapping the 3 boxes, etc. but I think I came close and wanted to know what you guys thought.
I also made a few adjustments to make text more readable, especially over the image background areas.
I stopped just over half-way as I really need to use Elementor Pro to recreate some of the original theme's widgets.
What do you think?

You can duplicate the original easily with Divi. But, I know that Jay recommends the Generate Press theme. Elegant themes also has a Divi Builder Plugin that works nicely with other themes.
Or, you can stick with your current trajectory.
Just thought you might like options.
Thanks....
I also settled on GeneratePress based on a ton of online reviews and a bunch of site speed searches I was doing. I've been doing the same with plugins, etc.
I have to admit upon first glance Scott, you can't beat that eye-catching feature image you had on the original theme. Even though Generate Press and Elementor have great reviews
Scott, I hear you too my friend.
I just sent you a PM. Have a solution if you wanna hear.

I think both sites look great. I didn't have any trouble loading either one of them; I didn't notice a difference in speed.
I really like the layout of the original page, but you're right, the writing is a bit hard to read in some areas while scrolling down.
Great job!

Thanks! I've gone ahead and paid for Elementor Pro...I'll be setting up my main site using it.
I think they both look good and they both load quickly for me. I also use Elementor and upgraded to Pro and I reallly like it. I also changed my theme to the Elementor “Hello” theme. Once I did that, I no longer had any site speed issues.
The first site looks great and loads quickly.
The second one is taking too much time to load.
yup, I just tried again. I prefer the first site except for that "too busy" first image in the background.
yes, but one set of servers is being upgraded before the other set of them.
There is a blog about it from Carson. Kraken Image Optimization Now at Wealthy Affiliate
The one that's currently on smallonlinebiz.com is a theme I purchased. I plan to replace it with GeneratePress and Elementor.
Yes, but what theme did you purchase? I was the one asking theme questions yesterday in the live chat. I'm going to purchase one instead of a free theme and I'm having trouble deciding which one, because I don't want a theme to give me slow site speed. Thanks!

the sites look electrifying and colorful,
Maybe to me it is both attractive and yet distracting,
why?
color and scrolling is hard on the eyes over some areas,
for me that was a distraction from reading the top level text info.
but that's just me man
Speed is cool and layout is spondishous.

Thanks for the input man. If you hold your mouse over the slider images it should pause the scrolling.
