Google's "People Also Ask" Feature is often Inaccurate
(Cover photo: Google seen on Tablet)
Hi everyone,
I wanted to make you aware that Google's "People Also Ask" Feature is often Inaccurate whether intentional or perhaps its AI generated.
Its important to look at the actual article cited to see what was really said. I have found it will take statements and cobble them together to create a false statement with People Also Ask.
Another problem I noted is it might take outdated information from an old post/article and cite it as an answer. This can be critical if you are looking for health related info.
Totally untrustworthy in my opinion.
Happy Hump Day!

Hey Mel,
Allow me to fix the title of your blog post for you:
"Google is Often Inaccurate"
There you go, job done!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yup, unfortunately, as Google is CURRENTLY ranking based on authority and also picking "snippets" from articles to provide immediate answers with SGE, and within People Also Ask, this is going to happen.
As I mentioned yesterday, the algorithm will eventually "work out" what people ACTUALLY LIKE, and hopefully start ranking accordingly (I think we're a good few months away from this still).
Until then we're stuck with inaccurate, incomplete, irrelevant results!!
Lovely!! LOL!

Thanks for pointing this one out, Mel. The "People Also Ask" should, in my opinion, be merely a starting point...then we need to do our own research. I believe the same to be very true about AI. It's not good to accept anything without checking its validity against other resources, especially when we're dealing with the internet. So often I've found two sources with totally opposite views. Then further digging is necessary. I believe it is important that we "see for ourselves" before deciding to accept information that is passed on to us online.
Thanks for sharing Fran!
