7 Top Blog Niches For Gaining Traffic And Making Money

Having been around the Wealthy Affiliate community a couple of months now, one question that keeps popping up is about which niche people should and could be using to make money.

So thought I would see if I could give these people a helping hand by running through the top blog niches that will generate you good traffic and earnings. Now that's not to say other niches will not do the same this is just the top 7.

What is a niche ?

So what is a niche anyway. Well it's a group of people that having a common interest towards a certain subject. Obviously the larger the group the bigger the niche. If you are looking at a very large niche then maybe look to drill further into the sub niches within the main niche.

As an example I love the how to make money niche but I know that this would take a mamonth effort and time to get recognized within this niche so I have drill down and chosen to concentrate on just affiliate marketing (this enables me to promote Wealthy Affiliate)

Some Pointers When Choosing Your Niche

When starting out and building your website there are loads to learn and can be a bit daunting. That is why I love the Wealthy Affiliate site as they have step by step training to guide you through everything you need to know about start a business online.

Anyway I digress, bear in mind that you will be writing about your niche for years to come, so either having some knowledge already is a good thing, but remember everything could be learned as well. Look at what hobbies or interests you already have could this be your niche ?

Below I have put together a guide for anyone who is still looking for some guidance

1. How To Make Money

This niche doesn't really need any introduction or explanation. As mentioned this is one of my niches and I have used the sub niche of Affiiate Marketing, but other sub niches could Forex trading, blogging, branding, social media, video marketing, Pinterest and SEO to name just a few.

2. Personal Finance

This niche a massive and some sub niches could certainly overlap into the how to make money niche. Frugal living is a great sub niche, showing people how to save money. You could also do traveling on a budget, cheap insurance and so on.

3. Health And Fitness

Although we have all probably been sitting around taking some times off over the festive period and once the new year arrives we look to get fit and healthier... Well it's not just this time of year people are always looking to gain better health and fitness so this niche works all year round. Some sub niches in this category are ;- Running, BMX, Weight loss for men / women / teens / kids, pregnancy, dental health, diabetes, coeliac disease (this was my second choice as I am coeliac) maybe I will add this once I have my first making money on autopilot.

4. Diet And Nutrition

This one could well be a sub niche of health and fitness, but I would niche down even further. Gluten free foods (oops giving away all my niche ideas LOL ) Vegan, Keto diet, weight loss you get the idea.

5. Beauty And Fashion.

You don't have to be an expert on this one, people love to follow others and get ideas. Although this is one I will stay well clear of as my fashion sense is zero so my family keeps saying LOL. Some sub niches could be make up tips, hair loss, male/ women / teens / kids fashion pregnancy fashion and beauty tips and jewelry.

6. Parenting

I my day we didn't have Google or blogs to get help we just had to go for it and even if I say so myself me and my wife done a great job. But these days sharing experiences, knowledge and tips can and is sometimes what people are graving. Child illnesses, breastfeeding, recipes, teenage life... This niche lends itself well to starting with your newborn and building your blog as you journey through parenthood and even when you are a grandparent your first blogs will still be relevant as they are your experiences which others may still be going through.

7. Personal Development

A huge niche and one I love. With such diverse sub niches such as meditation, goal setting, yoga, depression and anxiety... quick plug I as sure you won’t mind ... My son suffers from depression and anxiety and has recently launched a podcast just speaking about the condition and how he copes from day to day ... if you know anyone that may need a help just search " The Talking Hug" on any social media or podcast platform. He has always found talking about things even to a stranger has helped him so let's make sure we all help others by doing the same.

Remember, if you are passionate about a hobby and there is people that are into the same thing then why not go for it... In time, you can grow and branch out into a wider niche.
