Alex hit it right on the head. It's all about what your theme supports. If you aren't getting the style of menu icons that you want you may need to play around with some different themes.
What happens if I can't find a theme that supports what I need? I need to get a custom website designed?

I haven't done this, but I have researched it a bit. If you go to site manager>plugins>new plugin> plugin search and enter "membership" there are at least a dozen plugins that come up. Check out what each does by looking at the details. Once you choose one, all you have to do is install and active and then set up the preferences you want.

I have tried to fix using the help, but still having issues. The videos were working fine yesterday.

Perhaps you need to see if people in your area are having the same problem; could be your internet service.
