Ranking at Position 8 Page 1?
Hello fellow WAers,
This morning I noticed one of my posts climbing back to number 8 on page 1.
Here is a pic of this post since the day I posted it:
You can see that back in June it ranked number 2 on page 1.
So what is the point of my posting this to the Wealthy Affiliate Community? I just wanted to give some feedback to you that your posts can rank very high on Google, even today after all of their updates.
Another point I want to make is that the rankings fluctuate depending on the demand at the time. This post is among my best ranking posts. As you can see it held around 10 consistently for awhile. Now that it is going up to 8 I am going to see if I can get it to rank back at 2 or 3.
Finally, there is another thing we can learn from this. In order to be successful at affiliate marketing we need to have many posts and keep adding posts to our websites because every post will fluctuate in the rankings. By having numerous posts you will find that when some of your posts lose ranking, others will go up in the ranks, thereby allowing you to create a more stable affiliate marketing business.
So keep on posting and building your websites.

I find that the best way to check on where my posts are ranking is to open an incognito search tab and Google the target keyword.

Because if Google identifies you by account it is more likely to show you what it thinks you are looking for, assuming your post is indexed.
Haha, Google definitely has its own agenda, which is frequently evolving. 😎
Some SEO experts will say not to Google your own target keywords, except in an incognito environment, because it could lead Google to penalize you for trying to skew your analytics.
I’m not sure that is a significant concern unless you are really trying to scale up that type of behavior.

As by doing this it will also propel the rankings so much even on old articles, it is something special to Wealthy Affiliate that you won't find elsewhere.

Thanks for reminding me of that. About 2 months ago I worked hard at getting some comments on many of my posts by providing comments on other's websites. I have been so busy that I have neglected pursuing that as of recent. I will look to start working on that. Thanks for the reminder!
