I Just Received a Check From Amazon for $334.61, BUT-

...it has nothing to do with my new website or even Wealthy Affiliate. You see, I know my new website has not yet earned my any referrals commissions because I have been checking it every day like a desperate lunatic.

This money is from sales I made between February 2012 and February 2014 (when I wasn't a member of WA) on previous websites that are no longer live. The funny thing is, I had completely forgotten that I had earned that money, probably because it was lots of tiny amounts over a 2 year period, and much of that period was when I had temporarily given up on internet marketing.

But why did Amazon wait 2 whole years to pay me that money? Was it because I hadn't logged into my Amazon Associates account that whole time?

What shall I do with the money? Shall I spend it all on Bing Ads to get more WA referrals? Or shall I pay some writers to write me some content? Or shall I treat myself to something nice, maybe some new clothes or a relaxing massage? Or maybe I should just keep it in my bank account because money is tight these days.

But it brings back nice memories of when I used to occasionally get Amazon and ClickBank checks through the post. I like that feeling, and I want more of it, so I should really be getting back to working on my website...

...

By the way, I was going to use the British spelling "cheque", but then I remembered there are a lot of Americans on here so I decided to conform so as to not risk being misunderstood ("What is that strange word he just wrote?..."). Also, I have to say, there are some instances when Americans make our language better, such as times like this when you can use fewer letters to write the same word. I may even start saying "pants" instead of "trousers". Stranger things have happened...

Congratulations on your "cheque"!!! I hope you are able to go on "holiday" after "ringing up" some of your friends and then "posting" some bills using some of the money you earned yesterday!! Did that sound SORT OF BRITISH?? I'm EXTREMELY American but I know SOME words in YOUR English that are different from MY English.......so I wanted to help you feel British, since you helped ME understand your post in American!!! Let me know if I said all of that correctly above!! NOW I will sound SOUTHERN and say "See y'all later Aligator!!"

You did it wonderfully, you little sausage.

Great - thanks for letting me know!! :-)

Don'y say 'pants' in the UK lol, you may well be misunderstood!!

Pants is also slang for bad. Like: "This website is pants, it's has so many ads!"

Or, these knickers are pants ;-)

Haha! Saying knickers are pants really could confuse people.

By the way, I once met someone who used "trousers" as a curse word.

Teehee!!

Vicar, was he?

No, he was just a normal person.

Spend it on yourself and then re-invest earnings from your current sites into contend and bing ads. That's what I'd do anyway.

Funny you should mention the Uk/American spelling thing as I once heard that us Brits will happily read any spelling whereas our overseas cousins will only read US spellings.

I know that's quite stereotypical and for all involved but it's something that's always stuck with me ever since I heard it so much so, that this was a big consideration when starting my site.

I have to admit that rightly or wrongly, I decided to use the "US English" option in my grammerly settings and I happily stick by my decision.

Well, there are more of them than us, let's face facts :-)

All that unbridled fornication Marcus, not like us reserved Britons!!

Always great to find money you never knew you had. Have a great day!

Good work, Marcus. Keep pushing forward.
And about British English you're right. It's a great language. Learned it through the years. But after living in couple different countries it lost some of it sound and beauty. And for spelling it's sipler and people connect with it more.

Careful with pants over trousers..

Only Superman puts his pants over his trousers :-)

he he...and robin.

On a related subject, what the hell is is with this fashion of low-hanging trousers, though? Is this some kind of mental illness?

Whoa that is LOW hanging!

Low hanging fruit?

Ha ha! Nice! I would think they would have chosen better pants too, I mean if you are going to have them on show like that!

Exactly! If it was me, I would have pants that show a picture of bum cheeks.

Hahaha! I actually laughed out loud. (Refuse to put lol) I like your style

Awesome! Don't waste it now, go out and blow it on yourself!

Well, you could use the money for another 12 months at WA. OR you could buy Camtasia Studio and make lots of lovely videos. OR... just have fun ;-)

Good suggestion Marion....is that how much it is? Sheesh!
Mark

You'd get change from my suggestions (◠‿◕✿)

I'm going to buy new speakers. My current ones are faulty. It will be a good investment in my niche.

Seriously, for a moment because this thread has dissolved into unbridled giggles, do you find that the paid for camtasia is the best way to create your own videos Marion?
Mark

Yes! Look at my videos from 3+ months ago and then at the more recent ones and you'll see and hear a huge difference. PM me for my affiliate link (◠‿◕✿)

Will take a look

thats cool

That is a nice surprise! Don't worry, you aren't the only one who checks commissions everyday like a desperate lunatic ;)

I am Canadian. We also spell it a cheque. As in "I will check with the bank to see if I can deposit my cheque there". We also spell color and favorite with a "u" after the "o". I think that is the British spelling as well.

Yes, I find myself writing "favourite" and then taking the u out because, well, AMERICANS! :-)

Exactly. I always take out the "u" on my website. And the spell checker likes to tell me that I have spelled the word wrong when I include the "u"

I like it Tanja!
