Amazon Sent Me 169 Dollars

I've just received a cheque from Amazon for $169.15.

But settle down, before you wet yourself with excitement, please realise this is money earned over the past year. That's about $14 per month, so it's small change really.

Also, I'm in the UK, so I'll have to get the bank to convert it to £GBP, and they charge for that, the bastards.

Still, the sun is shining, and this is a chance to get the horse and cart out of the stable and have a trip over the hills to the next town (where the actual bank is).

Wait a minute, I don't have a horse and cart. I'll have to drive the car. Still, I can go for a walk on the hill on the way back and hug the sky.

Update: Turns out my bank is no longer in that town, so I had to drive to a 3rd town, but the bank has gone from there too. I eventually went to a 4th town, which I was certain has my bank because it's the regional main branch. I was served by young, blonde female staff member wearing a tight dress. So, definitely not a wasted journey...

As my old manager used to say it's better than a kick in the balls. Seriously I also live in the UK. if you're going to receive cheques from Amazon regularly you might want to open an account with Payoneer, They give you a US bank account number which you can use to have Amazon pay directly into then transfer it to your UK bank account. They do charge as well but it may be cheaper than the banks charge here and the payments transfer in the same time as a BACS. I believe the banks charge somewhere around £7 to £10 per cheque depending on the bank.

Thanks, I will look into Payoneer.

Well done Marcus, that`s $169 you didnt have yesterday.

Thanks.

Yes I think I can so forget about the horse, cart and the hills, and use Payoneer. You have three options, bank transfer, master card so you can take the money from any ATM cash machine, or both.

Thanks, I will look into Payoneer.

I am using it, both options mentioned above, very smooth and reliable.

I can't remember when I last received a cheque. It's so last century.
;-)

Well done on the dough, ray, me. Interesting that you use amazon dot com not UK for your sites.

The secret message is too obscure for this little brain.

Unfortunately there was no secret message. I was just messing with you all.

But check out my update above.

American visitors seem to make up the most traffic, so I've just been using .com affiliate links.

I thought the secret message was that Amazon still post cheques when everyone else uses card payments or paypal

Marcus, please I want to ask, are you using a UK Amazon store? Since you opened an account in the UK.

American visitors seem to make up the most traffic, so I've just been using .com affiliate links.

Hi you can open an account on http://Amazon.com if you live outside the US because as Marcus says they seem to get the most traffic

Do you mean I should just change the affiliate links to dot com instead of dot co dot uk?

Will that change the denomination to USD?

It's probably a good idea to change to .com affiliate links.

Thanks you are so helpful. I av been stalling over these for 2weeks now.

Now I can go forward.

No that won't work. The tracking IDs are different. The .com end with -20 and the .co.uk end with -21 so you have to have a .com affiliate account.
You can login to http://amazon.com with a .co.uk username and password and register an affiliate account and you also have to fill in the IRS forms and then wait for Amazon to approve the account

Oh, sorry, yes, markuswil is right. You need to sign up as an affiliate on affiliate-program.amazon.com and then get your separate links from there. I should have made that more clear, sorry.

OK thanks. But will that work if I sign up as an Amazon affiliate in the UK? I have an exam in the UK in a couple of weeks.

Yes, you can sign up for Amazon.com from the UK.

Thanks, so much.

Cool Marcus :)

Thanks.

Hi Marcus, well done. Irv.

Thanks

Very cool. Congrats!

Thanks

Secret message: you hate cheques?
Or you would like to buy a horse?

No, I guess He might be hinting at a new Niche :P
