Welcome folks to OverSizeMen and thank you for stopping by. Today we are going to talk about some Men's Fashion and Style so please make yourself comfortable and grab something to drink and relax as you read this post. Now, one thing I have noticed throughout the years is that a lot of men are rather uncomfortable when they have to talk about fashion and the whole idea behind style, shopping, and new trends. The reason behind this sort of behavior has a lot to do with men associating and assuming these are homosexual activities.
Luckily other men are smart enough to know that this is not the case at all and more of a machismo approach to things. In fact, a lot of women do love a guy who has a good eye for style and dresses appropriately. Just look at Hollywood actors for example or TV show hosts, most of the time they dress to impress and the ladies love it. The only difference between us and them is the job position and the salary. After all who says you can't look good while not braking the bank?
Fashion is a game about knowledge, combinations, and do's and don'ts so as long as you can understand those key principles you will be alright. The first step toward achieving desirable results begins in your wardrobe. Lucky for you, I wrote a post with a list of some of the things men must have in their wardrobe. I suggest you take a peak and start building your very own wardrobe.
Click here if you wish to check out my previous post on how to build a wardrobe as well as must have items in order to build a complete and stylish wardrobe. One thin you need to do is find a way to come out of your comfort zone if you feel awkward. Just like with anything else you will naturally adapt and feel good about yourself once you figure out a way to dress properly according to the occasion.
The biggest challenge is not to stand out and become the center of attention because of your apparel, The idea is to avoid becoming the center of attention by being the one person who everyone else criticizes and awkwardly stands out in the crowd.
One of the best ways to avoid getting caught and looking out of date is by actually following the latest fashion trends and four seasons. Styles come and go, sometimes the styles of fashion come back eventually while some die and never come back at all. The one thing you can always count on never changing are the four seasons; summer, fall, winter, and spring. Even if you are not a fashion enthusiast you should always know some of the basic principles.
For example, winter time is the time of the year where black is used by a lot of men and women but do you know why? Simple, black combines with just about everything and if you match it properly you can achieve the perfect look while making you appear thinner/smaller and look elegant.
The summer time however, is the season to wear nice and beautiful colors that's why you see a lot of yellows, pinks, blues, teal, etc... at least for men that is. Men's fashion is quite different from women's so this is not an exact guide but more of a guideline per say.
Ultimately, the choice will always be yours and as long as you consider taking some advice you will be fine. Even if you begin applying a few of the principles the rest will come and you will begin to see how eventually everything else comes together naturally

This is actually a post I started working on and I wanted some opinions, so I decided to put it here and as far as I can see it was a good post to write for my nice so I will continue working on it and post the final results once I complete it.
Wow, Manny. Nice topic. It's always nice to see a man who knows how to dress and wishes to do so. So many men just don't care. I bought all of and laid out my ex clothes for YEARS. It kind of gets old after a while. :-) Thanks for taking this topic on and I hope all the guys read it.
Hi Manny, I don't think I can convince my husband of that basic principles you are talking about. He has 2 principles, shorts with sandals or coveralls and sandals :) I am very pleased I have got rid of the white sockets :)
Great job, Manny! My husband is a "big and tall" guy and has a great sense of style. I noticed him because of his beautifully laundered white shirt and suspenders that he wore when we were both working part time security at the Wells Fargo Center! But I think you're right, many men avoid the topic of style and fashion. Good luck with your site!
Didn't know you were a fashionista, Manny! I think men need some guidance and especially larger men. There is a lot of advice out there for plus-size women, but I never see much for men. Good job!
I think most women would appreciate being able to suggest to their guy that there is a guy they might be able to learn from on attire. Men in general are going to listen to another guy before they are going to listen to a woman. So this is a great subject. My guy fortunately knows how to dress very well!:)
