As you may have read in my previous blog Google in Trouble, here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.co... after seven years of investigation for Google manipulating search results despite stating that it is automatically done by their sophisticated algorithm, list of evidence and reports lined up proving that search results have been regularly tempered with to their own favor.

Google has been fined 2.42 Billion Euros by Brussels and given an ultimatum to make changes or will have to pay more.

"The European Commission said that the business, owned by the American company Alphabet, put its own shopping service at “illegal advantage”. The commission has given Google 90 days to stop this or face fines of up to 5 per cent of Alphabet’s average daily worldwide turnover."

While Google has a list of genius and often free products that make our lives and businesses easier it has abused it's search engine to promote it's own products and pushing back others.

“What Google has done is illegal under EU antitrust rules. [...] It denied European consumers a genuine choice of services and the full benefits of innovation.”

The EU regulators also charged Google for using their mobile app, Android to destroy rivals.

The fine Google has to pay is the largest a company ever had to pay in the EU and if they will not make the required changes within 90 days Alphabet will have to dish out 5% of their daily profit until it's done.

"It is the first time that one of the big competition regulators has taken penal action against Google, which has consistently denied any wrongdoing."

In your last post you mentioned that Google might be fined $9 billion. And I commented that it would be a mere $1 billion. Well, we both were wrong. It is a $2.7 billion.
Thanks Magus for sharing this with us!

Yes they aimed to a bigger fine and I think that 9 billion estimate might have included the extra fine too in case they won't change things in 90 days which is 5% of Alphabet's earning.

Hmmm, dare I say to much? I dont want google to block me.
Im sure the google god sees this too. Lol!

Good info though. Thanks for sharing!

lol we are little people to them. And too many.

I truly think something needs to done in the US or something is just terribly wrong! I dont understand how Im now on my second site. Its been up for only maybe two weeks and is supposedly indexed in Google. I cannot find it at all!!! Yet I am ranked on the FIRST PAGE in BING!!! How is that possible? Thank you for posting this Magus! I was just thinking yesterday how I was getting ansy for an update! It's always good to read stuff from you! Have a good one and best wishes!

Misty

U can use this, site:[yourwebsite.com] in a Google search and if your website is indexed it will show all the pages that Google has indexed so far.

Carl

Great! Thank you so much! Im going to try it right now!

Its taking me to a DELL website for laptop computers?

My pleasure. I'll share what I can :)

did u type it in as,

site:websitename.com

LOL! indexed by google is a mere formality for every website and not the same as having your pages ranked in the SERPs.

...interesting about Bing though! Always use an incognito window to search your site too.

Yes Andy, the bigger they are the more they have to learn. It never fails!

Hehe pretty much.

OOHOOHOO! Nice one Magus!

european law doesn't always get it right, and I'm not sure how it will provoke Trump at this time, but glad to see the whole thing exposed and hopefully it will set the ball rolling in the right direction for google exposure, because when they do this sort of thing in one area then what is the bets they will do it across the board as much as they can get away with it, and that includes all our niche website ranking too, that whole thing about 'quality' content leaves them with a bit of extra authority/excuses to say why they choose who they choose to be on top and we never see the money exchange going on in the background, especially important when it comes to big pharma and herbalism or alternative medicine...etc

Yes they have too much power and hopefully this trimmed some off of it or at least made them re-think stuff.

wow, I thought nothing would happen to Google but I guess I was wrong. Now the big question is, do the fines actually impact their bottom line enough to make them change or is it an acceptable loss and they will just continue on as they have been? Judging by the size of the fines I would surely hope that it is enough. I am glad that something was done, now we hope that Google will actually change. I guess time will tell.

Well of course they will have to change something. No one wants to pay governments if they don't have to. Of course there are many things we don't see can still happen behind the scene but this is definitely a historical action in the EU and hopefully makes others re-think a few things too.

Interesting. I wonder if they incur the fine who will really end up paying in the end.

Also wondering where the US has been on this.

Thanks for sharing.

I don't know if US made any step ups against Alphabet Inc yet and I don't know if they will ever, but EU has been pretty tough on Internet giants the last few years.

Fantastic and thanks for sharing

My pleasure. :)
