When you publish a new post or page, WordPress automatically notifies the following site update services.

Add these in the following area:
Settings > Writing > Update Services

Jay, thanks for sharing your updated ping list. I remember in a recent WAbinar, you had mentioned that other ping services have either fallen out of favor, or have just faded away, so this is why you whittled down your preferred ping list. Thanks for thinking of us.
