About Maghdalena
Joined September 2009
Hello! My name is Katherine Logan, Also known as Maghdalena. I've been studying Internet and affiliate marketing since 2009. I took some time off to figure my direction and frankly I became overwhelmed. It's taken me so long to get to this point. One of the main interests that really piques my interest and gets me out of bed in the morning is Mindset. Our beliefs. My mindset is what has been keeping me from being the success that I expected when I first started studying Internet Marketing. I've found out that I need to look within myself and take a look at The Examined Life. Self-Sabotage has long been a thorn in my side. It's what's kept me from a successful and a victorious lifestyle and living the life I'd like to be living. It's the behaviors and the beliefs beneath them that keep us all from being the successes we would like to be; what decides if we are going to be winners or "also-rans". Ways we can change our beliefs, get confidence in ourselves and earn our merit.

I feel it's my mission to help others like myself who would like a better lifestyle, but feel that life is passing them by, that there are obstacles to success and to battle them, one at a time, together. My slogan is, "Together, we can achieve the victory lifestyle." So, my interest is self-improvement and metaphysics, both as studies and as a niche as well as the sub-niches such as procrastination, limiting beliefs; in short, anything that gets in the way of us and victory and success!

Other interests that I have are: reading, especially metaphysical and self-improvement books, music, guitars, swimming and though I haven't done it in a long time, travel.

I'm currently on disability, but have the goal to support myself and a college career in the field of psychology and Neuro-Linguistic Programming hypnotherapy and alternative healing. I have a long way to go, but I believe I'm moving in the right direction. I am also married and have been for 26 years. No kids.

One of the things I would like to see in my future is my website for my business, Victory Infopublishing set up and launched. I am also studying for a degree in Holistic Ministry from International Metaphysical Ministries, and starting a metaphysical church, first online, then eventually relocating to the Washington DC area either Springfield or Falls Church, VA.

I wish all of you in the journey into Internet Marketing and the discovery of learning about yourselves in the process of learning about your niches. Anybody who is interested in the same area of mindset, self-sabotage, such as procrastination, shopping addiction, limiting beliefs, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, hypnotherapy, energy work and other alternative healing methods are free to contact me or be buddies. I can use all the friends I can get.

I'm on disability, but that being said, lol:

I would be happy earning an extra 200 a month.
I would be ecstatic earning 2-3 thousand a month.
I am a metaphysical student studying for the ministry, but I would be willing to spend an hour a day towards becoming a success and meeting my goal for Victory Infopublishing as well as the metaphysical church I plan to start! Both will, I believe start me on the road to victory and success!

Bright Blessings,

Hey Katherine,

You can definitely achieve these goals and I know that you will make it happen. The key is to dedicate yourself to your training here at WA. Follow the training, take action on what you learn, and ask questions when you have them.

It all starts with a goal - you can now start working toward it!

Talk to you soon,

Hello Katherine !

Would you mind helping me boost my youtube channel? Either by subscribing to it or maybe sharing a video or just liking them? = )

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpVZPdYPkw47GLBKf6wCIAA

It would mean a lot to me. This channel is my dream job : makeup artist (I do every day makeup but mostly crazy halloween makeup and artistic makeup)

If you don't mind checking it out and subscribing, I would appreciate it a lot! But only if you like it and want to help lol. No offense if you don't want to =)

Then let me know if you need me to return the favor, by subscribing to your channel or anything that can help your business =) I will be happy to do it! :D

Many thanks!!!

I saw your first video. Not bad at all. I did subscribe, and checked out your website. I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your videos. What are you using for a video editor. I'm helping my husband with his channel, and learning Premiere Elements 12. I have to start over a lot, lol! I was mostly curious. Your Intro and outro are nice and understated. Very nice. I've seen some other outros, and they look to me a little loud, garish and messy with all those social buttons, but I really like yours. Keep up the great work, Sarah!

Hi =)
Thank you for the kind words and for the subscription, it means a lot to me !!

I'm using iMovie on all the videos and I recently installed Motion so I'll be using that one too in the future. iMovie is really easy to use and great for youtubers. Motion enables you to create complex special effects and it's a lot more complicated to use. So you should be fine with a software like iMovie

Thanks again, I appreciate you taking the time to connect with me.

I can't use iMovie as I have a Windows machine. I'll look into the Motion thing tho. It looked really cool! I'm looking into Filmora too, but it doesn't have all that many tracks-8 I think, but it's a lot easier to use than Premiere Elements. They have keyframes, but I can't get the flare to show up in Premiere Elements. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I was trying out Filmora and Cyberlink Power Director. It's got to be easier than Premiere Elements. I'm wondering if it didn't install right or something. I really want to make my husband's YouTube channel videos to look nice and at least semi-professional. Having trouble reading the time readouts too. I'll see what I can learn at Muvipix. They focus on Video Editing with different programs and see what they have to say at their forums. Maybe I can find an answer. If I can't find it, I'll just ask. :)

BelieveItYes Premium
Hmmmm I understand. I'm not sure Motion works on a windows machine, as it is an Apple product.
I have never heard of Filmora, I will look into it. Motion IS awesome, but it takes time to learn the basics. It's quite a complex software.

Premiere Elements is a great software though, you should just keep this one. It depends what kind of editing you are doing. You can also edit your videos on youtube but they offer only basic stuff.

I use "panzoid" to make all my video thumbnails
Reply
Maghdalena Premium
If motion is made by Apple, it might not be available for Windows doesn't look like it. Does it come with the Mac OS X (whatever version it is now) or through the Apple store or what. Filmora is made by Wondershare and is available for Mac and Windows. You can download it and try it out before you buy it, so that's nice. I like it a lot, haven't quite figured out the safe margin thing yet on some of the title templates. The main problem is it only has eight tracks, so I don't know if that's enough, but I * do* like it, but not for some of the videos that I'm helping my husband do. I still might buy it, I'd have to see for Victory Infopublishing if I could stay with 8 tracks or not.

If you want to check it out, just google Wondershare Filmora jI'm going to play with it a bit more. I don't think there's a time limit like there is with Cyberlink Power Director, It's about 50 bucks for a lifetime license. I opened it and it works, to get all the benefits, you have to buy it I guess, but it looks real nice. I am tempted, but I want to keep giving Premiere Elements a try for my husband's YouTube channel. I used Picmonkey for the channel art, so I think I could probably use it for the thumbnail too. I just wish you could save your project while you were working on it, instead of when you are finished working on it. If you screw up, you kind of have to start over, but I've been pretty happy working with it, that's the only issue I have with it so far.
Reply
BelieveItYes Premium
Motion doesn't come with mac OS, you gotta purchase it on the apple store yes.
I will check out Filmora although I really am happy with iMovie and Motion. A lot of people in the movie industry use both so that means they must be pretty good lol
I'm sorry that I can't help you with Filmora, I have never used it =/
50 bucks is cheap... I don't remember how much Motion is but it's a lot more expensive lol...
Never heard of picmonkey, I will compare it with Panzoid. Did you check out Panzoid?
Reply
Maghdalena Premium
Yeah, I checked out Panzoid. Don't like it as well as Picmonkey, but if it works for you great. Picmonkey is an image editing service that's similar to panzoid, and they have videos that teach you to make thumbnails with picmonkey on YouTube.I just like Picmonkey's style better, and it helped me make the channel art for Rick's channel. I made one for Victory Infopublishing, but the background color looks a little off, and I didn't leave as much room as I should have on the right, but it was darn close. I"m going to try again in a few days, and see if the company that did my logo and header could do the channel art for me. They're called "The Logo Company" and they're at http://www.thelogocompany.net if you want to check them out. I've always been happy with their work.

I'd have to say if imovie and motion are working for you, stick with them. How many tracks does imovie do anyway. I had a Mac, but that was in the days before OS X. I think I had Mac OS 8 before I went to Windows. So not as familiar with the Mac as I used to be. I remember I never got one virus with Mac. Is this still true? I might get a Mac or Mac laptop if Victory Infopublishing produces.
I'm finally starting to get the hang of Premiere Elements, so I might use that for Victory Infopublishing and later my metaphysical church as well. Don't worry about Filmora. I'm putting ordering that on the burner while I work with Premiere Elements. I finally got the flare to show, now it's just getting the darn thing to go on a path. (You have to put the title on one track, and the black video with the flare on another video track, so so far so good. (Yay!)

Have a great day and a great weekend that's coming up. :)

Hi Maghdalena
I am new and in the learning phase. I have come across your profile just now. Everything that you talk about is resonating with me. I have been stuck in the mud for way too long with self limiting beliefs. I just feel perhaps I have found an environment at WA that will get me to "unstick" myself. I worry about my abilities at writing anything of interest but that is the limiting belief talking again. Cheers for now T

Thanks. I know the feeling. It's easy, at least for me to self-doubt yourself, and hesitate. I'm still kind of inactive with my website, but I'm also going through a doctoral program in holistic ministry(metaphysics) but I'm getting ready to write my first blog post on my site.

I'm finding out that it's just a lot of small actions. Even if it's just studying a course (WA or whatever), but it also helps to limit the courses you are taking. Not only does it limit your spending, but it puts a damper on the "shiny object syndrome", and boy have I been guilty of that, yikes! I'm also considering writing my first booklet/lead magnet, and still a little stalled and frozen on that, but it's getting there. Good luck. Hope to stay in touch with you!

My goal for next year is not only to upload my posts, but writing and publishing a post every week. If I start my blog this or next month, and write a minium of a post every two weeks, then by January, up it to one post a week.

For me, the toughest part about doing a blog is getting started and what to start with. Like do I introduce myself, or what? Well, I'm learning just write about what you know and what you're passionate about, and over time, people get to know me. Yep, introduce myself over a series of blog posts. Well, it's a start! So thanks for the kind words. I'm still here. :)

Thank you so much for your reply Maghdalena. Is seems to me you have much on your plate! I think you have a lot to share so I am looking forward to reading your future work!

I doubt myself all the time, (English is not my first language but I live in an English speaking country). I have never considered writing anything that anyone would have the least interest in. I even struggle just to keep in touch with friends and family by email! I just become introspective and get nowhere. I keep listening to programs and motivational things. Today this quote makes me realise why I am not progressing, it goes like this "You can't start the next chapter of your life, if you keep re-reading the last one" I don't even need to ponder this one. Anyway I am learning this month here on WA and see if I can work out if it is for me. All the best. T

Hello Katherine.
I love your attitude and the energy. I also experienced self-sabotage and my luck of self-confidence holds me back from the live style I want. I try to motivate myself and keep positive spirits but its always short lived. I have lots of ideas in my head and I really need to find a way how to make them work for me.

Recently I came across WA and I really like the idea of internet marketing. It would give me the freedom and independence I am looking for. I am going through lessons now and new world is opening up for me.

I'm glad I have joined this community and hope this time I will succeed.

Thank you so much. That's really sweet. I've been with WA for a while, and I'm just starting to get organized. I'm currently taking a distance-education program in Holistic Ministry from International Metaphysical Ministry and I love it! It has a lot of spiritual meat in it, and I'm learning every day, not just from my course, but from my reference books and from life itself.

I'm primarily interested right now in writing and publishing books on Kindle in the Self-Improvement niche and some of its subniches. Victory Infopublishing is information marketing, but eventually, I hope to turn it into a membership site/school for improving our lives. My tagline is "Together, we can achieve the victory lifestyle", but it is just one part of my holistic ministry. It seems so large and overwhelming right now, but I'm working on one at a time. I'm also working on notes for my metaphysical church, Delphi Metaphysical Temple, and what direction it's going to take and the vision I have for it, so it will be quite a site. After that it is about holistic health and wellness, including weight loss, so it's three main sites right now. My holistic ministry is starting to turn into a mall, lol! At least I have my three main anchors, Mental improvement, spiritual and physical. It's about our eventual evolution to the next level. I believe we can and must improve ourselves, not just our actions, but our beliefs in order to evolve to the next level.
Anyway, thanks.

No problem. Best wishes. I'm working on my first site now and doing a lot of research into self-sabotage and the limiting beliefs that are beneath those behaviors. The behaviors are what people notice first, like procrastinating, perfectionism, addictive disorders like compulsive spending, gambling, whatnot, but it's the mindset under all those that really makes the difference whether they are going to overcome them or not. What makes the difference if we stay in the mud or reach for the stars. Best wishes to you and your niche. It's been a tough battle for almost 2 1/2 years to pick a niche and stick with it for me. :)

Well, yes, but I'm just getting started actually putting what I have learned into practice. So far, I am happy with WA, and I plan to stick around for the duration. I'm on the fifth lesson of the Action Plan (Free Marketing) and working my way through the Article Marketing tutorial. So, I'm still pretty much of a newbie myself. I'm just about ready to sign up for the WA hosting.

Where are you in regards to the Action Plan? It's taken me almost a year to get this far, I've felt so intimidated by how much there is to learn so often, and my self-confidence isn't what I would like it to be, but I really think my niche has a chance. If that works, I'll focus on another one. I'm still trying to get the hang of the Site Rubix, but I'm thinking of just going with WordPress Express and setting up a static page. I'm pretty enthusiastic, but with more than a little trepidation. I'm having to refresh my writing skills for the article marketing section that I'm working on, and I *would* like to eventually take the certified article marketing course.

I'm still hanging in there, and I'm not planning on giving up anytime soon, because I want to give my chosen niche- Guitarist's Health a chance. A lot of affiliates aren't even touching this let alone writing articles about it, a little here and there, but there are people concerned about arthritis, Fibromyalgia, repetitive stress(or strain) injuries, and preventing them or at least treating them naturally with nutrients and supplements, massage, etc that doesn't rip through their physical system. I feel that the standard Non-steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs are simply too violent for human beings and a lot have been taken off the market because of the severe side-effects, (like in *some* cases causing heart attacks and strokes. I think naturalpathy and diet is the way to go in treatment, and using the guitar as therapy for mood(music has been proven to aid clinical depression, did you know that) and keep up your range of motion. And of course moist heat, ice packs and meditation.

I *do* agree with the part about patience and determination. It seems to be proving true in my case and won't allow me to give up. Thanks.
Have a nice weekend.

And of course moist heat, ice packs and meditation.

I *do* agree with the part about patience and determination. It seems to be proving true in my case and won't allow me to give up. Thanks.
Have a nice weekend. read less
Well, yes, but I'm just getting started actually putting what I have learned into practice. So far, I am happy with WA, and I plan to stick around for the duration. I'm on the fifth lesson of the A... read more

I'm doing well, and studying like crazy! I'm on my fourth lesson in the Action plan which is keeping me busy, but I'm getting some ideas for my website. I'm planning on physical products, but I'm not ruling out digital products either. There's a sheet music place that provides digital delivery as well as physical music books, so that looks good. I'm boning up on musician's health info and arthritis info. It's getting there.

Btw nice to meet you Katherine.

Likewise. All us with neck problems could use solutions for relief. I'd certainly consider it as I am either in front of the computer or my guitar both of which play hell with my neck.

Hi Maghdalena. I wanted to share this site with you because of your expressed interests. I am a Christian, but I intergrate metaphysical beliefs in my beliefs with no problem at all. I stumbled across the American Monk this week. I hope you enjoy the site.

Mostly I think it's getting involved, and meeting new people, making posts and tutorials(I'm not there yet either) and giving people a hand if they have questions or pointing them to someone who does. It does take time, and also the buddy chats help improve it too, I've found. Maybe we can keep in touch. You're one of my buddies!

Thanks for your support, and I'm fine with you putting me on your buddy list. I'm still working on my chosen niche, Learning guitar. I'm between acoustic and classical, though will probably go with acoustic as I know that more and I'm just getting into classical guitar and music. Although learning classical guitar would be cheaper on Pay per click as there is less demand than acoustic. Weighing my options here. :) Best wishes.

Hope you're doing well. I'm putting together a small business plan, mostly for myself. Wish me luck.
Also, have you heard of Site Build It (SBI)? If so, what are your thoughts, opinions about it, take?
See you later

Hi Katherine, thanks for the add. Since you said you have been studying about internet marketing for a year, I believe you can get to the right track in a very short time. Good luck!

Well, yes, but I have just recently focused and concentrated my studies because this is what I want to do. Before it was possibility, but now I want to "major" in Internet and Affiliate Marketing. I am moving slowly, because my husband and I are designing a website, so I'm studying this in my spare time, but I am concentrating my studies when I *do* study. At least I have found my niche. Have a nice weekend! :)

Thank you for your kind words. I finally got back here(My husband I and I have been working almost non-stop on our website for our organization, Sanctuary of Victory, and now, we're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, so I can concentrate more on Affiliate Marketing. I'm still very interested in the guitar niche and guitar learning niche, and just getting back to it. If I need any help, I'll be glad to mention it at the forums or to you. I wish you every success too.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I am working on the 8 Week action plan. I've only been a member for a couple of days though. :) I'm also working on applying for an LLC for my company, Victory Infopublishing. I want to focus on the Mindset that turns people into winners, That and bread and butter issues. I want to work on one niche at a time with this though.
