The Dangers of Perfectionism

I've been working on my "About Me" post....again for my Online Entrepreneurship Certification training, and I've come across an all-too-common "enemy": Perfectionism.
Part of it, I think is that I care so much about my niche. I want this to be the best it can be. I want it to be "just so", and that stops me. It makes me feel like I am hitting a brick wall. but what are the dangers of perfectionism?
Nothing ever gets accomplishedIf we keep overthinking and working and working to get a blog post written, to get an "About Me" post/page written, it'll just stay in draft form and it will never get published. We'll think about it, and think about it, and it will become easier to put it off till the time is right to get it done. That of course never happens.

It just sits there, and we make no progression in this area or any other. We let fear come in, which leads to the next: procrastination.
We will be more likely to procrastinateThe more we overthink, the more we will find things that won't threaten our perfectionism. That won't make us scared to "put ourselves out there". We'll simply find other things to do that might need to get done, but will put the "cart in front of the horse". But the most important thing won't get done, till we put our focus and just "get 'er done". There's this song by Devo I like. It's called Later is Now. For me, it talks about the dangers of procrastination, which is, of course a different subject needing it's own post.
I have enough problems with procrastination enough as it is, but further procrastination because of perfectionim just makes it worse, and makes the fear worse. It's easier to just complete it, than not doing so. It looks fear in the face and basically "Flips the bird" at it. So, obviously I need to get my perfectionism under control, so I finish my "About me post" so I can progress on with my training.
We will have a lowering of our self-confidenceWe won't be happy with this of course, and will keep trying to get it right and get it right, but all it will do is sit there and taunt us. This will surely diminish our progress and self-confidence, and eventually self-esteem. We don't believe that we will ever be good enough, that our best isn't enough. We will hestitate and hesitate. We believe that someone else will be able to do the topic more justice than we do, assuming Impostor Syndrome doesn't come into the mix. And that really puts the clincher into our self-confidence. It's not knowing the material that gives us confidence, it's what we do with it. It helps us get competence, then self-confidence, then shows us that we can be effective. That we have the capacity for efficacy, that is, to have the ability to produce the blog post or, in my case, my "About Page".
"Good enough is good enough"One guy I'm following, a mentor says "Good Enough is Good Enough". It doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be completed and published. So that's what I'm going to be working on this next week. Getting it done. I can always edit it later, if need be, and a website is never done. I'm obviously going to change over time.
