Finally Finished Writing and Publishing my First Post

It felt like a mountain that was impassible, but I finally finished and writing my first post. It felt like a feat of tantalus, but I got it. I published my first post. I don't know if I put too much information in the first post, but I did find that I was trying to put two topics in one post, so a few false starts, but I finally got it done! Yay, me!

Never gave up

The important thing was that I never gave up on my post, or I guess, myself. I just wanted to get this done, and go on with my training so I don't lose sight of why I'm here. To become a successful Internet Marketer. My point is, even if it's hard, even if it's imperfect, get your first post out and start on the next lesson or even post. Good writing, I am told, depends on practice, and requires practice and it does get better and take less effort. It makes me feel better knowing that it won't take a month or so with the first post, lol.

Improvement is right around the corner

I know that I can improve my writing, and making it for my audience. I guess it helps that I'm in my target market, and that I won't give up when the going is tough! And it was tough writing my first post. but I stuck with it, and didn't give up. This is truly something for me to be thankful this Thanksgiving. I finished my first post, (Manical laughter, here).

But it also means that as I improve, there'll be more chances and times for me to further improve. The next milestone is right around the corner. The next victory, the next hurdle. One hurdle at a time gets the job done, is my takeaway from this lesson in the training.

Hi Maghdalena, Yes I am still on level 2 lesson 7 and still haven't got my first post done. To be honest I have been busy with life again that I am having a hard time with getting training done for WA as well as my training done for CAP.

I have been busy with medical appointments one after another. And that is everyday. By the time I get home and do everything with that such as clean, make dinner, and do dishes it is late. Then I am up to the wee hours of the morning or I get no sleep.

I understand and realize that I have to make changes and that is what I am doing I am thinking of what changes I can make that is going to be the best for all concern.

Mary

Mary,

It took me several weeks to a month to get my first post in, so don't worry how long it takes. It'll still be there.

What is CAP, btw?

I'm on the assessment waiting list, and I just got a request to get an appointment for my colonscopy, but I'm hoping to do that next year, if we can get a ride. I don't drive, and my husband wants to get it done in April when his uncle by marriage gets in from Florida. I'd be happy to just take our local "Dial A Ride", but it will definitely be done after January. I'll see what I can get.

Don't worry about your medical tests. Get those done first, and get what rest you can, then you can come back to your post fresh, and get it out. I believe in you. Do what's best for you, always, your health is important. No problem. :)

Hi Maghdalena, I am doing okay and I got two rounds of epidurals and it didn't work. So when I saw the Nurse Practitioner she gave me a blocker two shots in my occipital lobe and then four shots in my collar bone, and once again it did not work at all.

I don't know what is going to happen now. I just have to wait when I go back and see her. This accident mess me and my husband up.

And CAP stands for Civil Air Patrol we are the auxiliary to the United States Air Force. We step in when the Air Force calls us in for help on a search and rescue mission. And yes we have saved many lives across the United States.

Mary

I'm glad you're doing well, but sorry the epidurals didn't work out so hot. I'm sure they'll fine tune and work it out. Unfortunately, it takes time.

Oh, I see was CAP stands for. Sounds like a great thing, and a good supplement for search and rescue. Kind of like First Responders. It's great you've saved a lot of lives. That's what makes it all worth it, that lives can be saved.

I turned off the posts, I just can't keep up right now with my training and working on my site, so my site has to take priority, though I'm getting an idea for a book on how my attitude has shifted these past 5 or so years. I'm pretty much the case study and it's what I"ve learned from my life experience, but there you are. I want to publish it to Kindle, but I'll be writing and researching some of it in Scrivener, which I have a license for. I love Scrivener! 😁❤

Hi Maghdalena, I don't blame you for shutting off your posts right now. I may have to do the same myself because I can't catch up with it all.

I just wish I could remember how I did it the last time. I got through training, writing content, and answering email, and posting.

I just have to figure this all out. And still finish my training for Civil Air Patrol. I will get it all done but I just have to figure it all out.

Mary

Mary, you just go to your account settings, that's under your profile picture. You might have to scroll down a bit; the settings are near the bottom, and once the settitngs comes up, your link for Notifications is on the far left on the screen, on desktop or laptop. I can't say for phone or tablet. (I don't have one of those, then you just uncheck whatever is overwhelming you. I think the box for posts is "New Posts from people you follow is the second one on the left. HOpe that helps.

Get the stuff you need to get down that are on the highest priority. Yeah, that's easy to say, especially coming from someone who's always had priority and organization issues.. Like if the Civil Air Patrol is real high on you list of priorities, get that done first, the site and training will wait for when you're least stressed. Writing that first post was pretty stressful for me. It took me a few weeks. Hopefully, the Second post won't take near that long, lol. You'll get there.

Hi Maghdalena, Thank you for letting me know that I will check it out and see what is going with it. Yes I will take my time and finished one thing at a time.

CAP is kinda of priority right now. I have only so long to complete my training but I will get it done. I will be spending the weekend working on it. But I also figured out what I can do I just have to implement it and just do it.

Yes you have help me more then you will ever know. And writing is the easy part in most cases. When writing your content just relax the ideas will flow once you start writing your article.

I know I will get there it may take a little longer but it will happen.

Mary :))

Mary,

My best for your CAP training. I hope it goes well! Go for it and have a real nice Christmas. I'm glad I could help.

As for taking longer with WA, it takes as long as it takes! I took me over a decade after I rejoined with WA before really getting indepth with my training. Still takes me longer than I would like, but it's getting there, and I think about it and what I want to do with it everyday.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2023!

Hi Maghdalena, I am so sorry that it has taken me this long to respond back to you. But I have been so busy going back and forth from one doctor to another. It has been everyday since after the holidays.

It just seems like a neverending matter. But today (Friday) I don't have anything so I am working on my training for both WA and CAP. And try to make some kind of head way with both.

Mary

Sounds great, Mary. I'm working on my second post, still, (life getting in the way) as well as goals for my Koffee Klatch site (as well as Victory Infopublishing using Sally Ann Miller's books as guides. It's getting there, and I'm planning on writing ebooks (PDF), Kindle books and reports for monetizing as well as affiliate marketing, of course.

Hi Maghdalena, That is awesome I am truly proud of you. I knew you could do it. Keep up the great work you are doing awesome. Those are awesome goals too.

Yes life is always getting in the way of things. Always have always will that will never change. It just has gotten more noticeable then back in the day.

Great Job!!!!

Mary

Mary,

Thanks. It's getting there

It's so easy for life to get in the way, but even when I'm not working on it, I'm thinking of Koffee Klatch every day or finding ways to organize all my ideas so I can move forward.

Congrats Katherine!

May I give you some advice? Don't worry about your early posts not being perfect. Keep writing more using the lessons you learn. In time, when you look back at your earlier posts, you will get a feeling of satisfaction to see how far you will have grown.

The first post is always the hardest. My first was a review of Wealthy Affiliate. I cringe when I read that now. SInce then I have written. more reviews, each one I feel better than the last.

Keep up the great work.

Edwin

I am working on that, thanks, Ed! Cognitively, I know I'm a perfectionist, but that my early writing will *not* be perfect, and that my writing can only improve, but my inner critic...well, that's a different story. But I try to be loving, but firm, and that will be enough, thank you, inner critic, lol! I'm sure I'll cringe too, but it's part of the learning process, right? I'm about to write my second post, but I have a few ideas what to put in my sections/sub-headings.

How true that is ! We all need to make improvements in many areas of life. It must be done. It makes us a better person. Like a plant that grows and flourishes, making improvements helps us to grow and thrive.

It can even be said that making improvement even in small areas, can be a contributing factor to success and happiness.

Another beautiful quality that you also exhibited, is the need to be persistent. Regardless of how difficult and challenging the situation might turn out to be, one must have the courage not to give up, one must persist until goals are attained and dreams are achieved.

And we must remember, that failure always keeps company with those who quickly give up.

As you mentioned, "the next milestone and the next victory is around the corner", so may you continue to pursue and achieve those victories and milestones, by making improvements.

Thank you for your help.

Thanks, Sten! As someone who might have ADHD, not officially diagnosed, but meet the symptoms of it, so right now, at least I'm self-diagnosed, which might not be saying a lot, but as I was saying, the smaller goals are easier for me to meet and less overwhelming. For me, it's all about the Kai-Zen, that is, small, but steady and daily improvement.

One of my big goals, as part of making money is to write and sell small reports, and short books on the Kindle Platform. I know I'll have to write more than one book, but I'm hoping to write my first book this month, then five books by spring. Really nervous about that, but there you are. Affiliate Marketing will be part of the mix too, but my writing short books, in addition to be short and not as overwhelming and also written for those who have ADHD, hopefully it will start building credibility and expertise, the same for the short reports (like a long blog post, which I tend to do anyway. But my first goal is to get the traffic of course, so focusing on that right now too.

I'm hoping to use my short books to also bring traffic to my site, so fingers crossed! 😁

First, congratulations on the first post.

The writing does improve as you write, but never let that worry you. When I was first getting my feet wet in self publishing my writing was an abomination. Thankfully my ignorance was such I was unaware of it and continued plodding on, haha.

I also discovered a secret as my writing became passable. Many of those who read us have a worse grasp on writing mechanics that we do, and never notice. Sure there will be the occasional grammar dictator, but I saw them come out of the brush for one writer I knew who spent 5 grand on an editor. Some you just can't please so never let them give you pause.

While taking a moment to smile in triumph, use the newfound energy to push forward now and get number 2 and number 3 and such written and posted.

It's through taking the actual steps great things are accomplished, much more important than say someone of genius who is always fine tuning without implementing. You have begun your empire with this step, and I look forward to reading of your success here as you build upon this foundation.

Excellent job! 👍

Thanks, Frank! Hope all is going well on your end. Best wishes for a happy Thanksgiving.🦃

I'm doing great, Katherine. We're already gearing up for the big Thanksgiving feast!

I hope yours is excellent! 🦃
Frank 🎸

And full of music, lol :)

Absolutely! It will be.

I hope yours will be too!😎

I'll probably listen to Kirtan, but next month listen to New Age Christmas/Solstice music. I can recommend Mannheim Steamroller, David Arkenstone and Enya. They have some good tracks, and the Echoes Christmas broadcast at https://www.echoes.org is always good. Not an affiliate link, but it's a shameless plug. It was our dog and cat's favorite radio show at the time. I'm not sure if it's https or https, though, so if one doesn't work, the other probably will.

All excellent recommendations, Katherine! 😎

My wife and I have seen Mannheim Steamroller in concert several times.

Frank 🎸

That's cool! I have 4 or 5 of their albums. They had a Christmas album a while ago. I love them! :)

That's usually when we see them in concert, at Christmas.

It's great fun! 😎

And their music is so beautiful!

This is awesome. Great job!

Harold

Thanks, Harold, I appreciate your kind words😃

You're on your way - yea!

Thanks! I sure am,vit appears! :)

Great work…keep it up!

-Mike

Thanks, Mike! I shall do my best! Happy Thanksgiving btw 😀🦃

Thank you…and I hope you do as well!

-Mike

😃

Good job!!

Thank you! :)

That’s great! The first can be the toughest. Best wishes going forward.

Thanks! I'm already mulling over my next post, and I know my topic and keywords. 😃
