A New Start
I haven't been active for a long time, and for a time, was considering canceling WA, but I kept putting it off for some reason. My argument to myself was that I wasn't using the service as it deserved to be used. I thought and thought about it, and was so close to canceling, but then I thought, what if I started using it, starting over? What if I actually gave it a chance and actually utilized it for a change? What would happen? And then, what's the worst that would happen?
Why did I stop using it. There were a lot of reasons. One was that I let life get in the way, another was that I was overwhelmed and had a negative mindset, and I had to do a lot of work on myself and take a long hard look and take stock. I also forgot, and over time, I think I might be showing the symptoms of ADHD, but the thing of it was, I didn't want to and couldn't give up if there was a chance that it just might work and I just might be successful. I've heard from a lot of places, including Napoleon Hill that most people stop just before they "find gold". I didn't want to do that.
But enough time had gone by that I had forgotten most of the lessons, so I decided, start over from scratch, as though I was someone new coming here. Give it a chance.
And I'm so glad that I did. I'm very close to the end of the Online Entrepreneur Certification's first level: Getting Started. This is the farthest that I've ever gone, and I'm really proud of myself. I'm around 81% done.
Never Quit
So what have I learned that I wouldn't have if I had quit? The satisfaction that this could actually work. About 5 or so years ago, i thought of writing a book for people who wanted to start an online business, but wanted to do it on a budget. I had just discovered Open Source programs, and I spent more money than I should have or needed to (Darn Bright Shiny Object Syndrome, lol), but I learned that there are alternatives. Then I though, What if I put this into a site as well as different ways to make money so you're not dependent on any one income stream, and what if I did that for people my age who needed to be on a budget, who hadn't saved for retirement or who weren't able to for one reason or another or who lost their nest egg and needed to start over(I'm 63 now)? What if they got distracted or lost their job with no saving and too close to retirement age, as happens to a lot of people these days. I think we all know that there has been no job security since the 80's. And I took too much for granted and didn't really think this would happen to me, but it did,
But if I were to take the lessons I learned when I lost the paper route I had with my husband, and work the course, and start a site, and it succeeded, then if I did it, others could do it too. It would mean that not giving up WA would have been the best thing I ever did.
Lastly, I've learned that there's a certain satisfaction in not quitting, of persevering no matter how hard it gets. No matter how frustrating it is, there's nothing like it. This tells me I'm going in the right direction.

I agree with you. There is a kind of satisfaction in not quitting. I stepped back for awhile. Then restarted. I was glad I didn't quit.

Yes, you most certainly are going in the right direction.
Its great to see the progress you are making already.
Yes, the attitude "I am not going to quit" is such a great asset.
We are so excited for you and look forward to read mg of your progress. We know you can do this.
Cheers!.
Thanks! Something in me just wouldn't let me quit, lol. I wouldn't be where I am if I had. I know it. :)
I am so glad you didn’t cancel and quit! That literally is the only way to fail!
I love how you turned your thought process around! That’s exactly what it takes to be successful!
You learn from your mistakes and push forward. :) I can’t wait to see what you accomplish!!
I can't argue with that! I'm still working on my thought process though. For the longest time, I thought that since my family ddin't listen to me (my folks used to tell me I couldn't write in a logical manner, that is it was all disorganized, but didn't point me in a direction where I could improve or point me to someone who could), then why would strangers listen to me? I've had to fight this false belief and reject it, reject it, then reject it again. It's really deep-seated, but I'm working on it. It can be a challenge. Unfortunately, it also caused me to freeze and overthink things and think that I didn't have enough information. I'm getting there. It helps when I work with something I've studied for years; Internet Marketing. For me, it helped narrowing down my audience. ;)
