Thank you for copying my content!

So there is someone copying my website content!

I only have a few things to say on this subject and to this person (yes I know who you are but I won't name and shame you, there is no point).

Firstly: thank you for the compliment, I really am honored that you feel my content is so good that you copied not one post but a good few!

And Secondly: Although I am flattered I would just like to let you know that I literally spent hours on each post I have written, sometimes close on an entire day. I take my writing very seriously and I research my keywords, research my topic, for my reviews I try and register for the product and try it out myself. I write and rewrite my article until I am happy with it.

You have in 2 seconds just highlighted my entire post and pressed crtl c and then ctrl v.

I am so sad for you. You will never know what it feels like to really put the work in like I have.

To press that publish button and know that you have done a great job!

The third thing I would like to tell you is that yes my content is fffing awesome! It ranks well and fast!

However.... it won't for you. The reason is that this is duplicate content. It is MY content. When Google catches up with you (and it WILL) it will see that you have copied my original content and you will be penalized.

So....

You might think you are being clever now, but you are not. You are taking short cuts that are doomed to blow up in your face.

So my advice is for you to change your game plan and start to do some real work. You might be amazed at the results :)

And to anyone wanting to protect their work, here is a great article from Robert-A ( https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/robert-a ). I will be doing this soon so thanks for commenting on this blog with the info!

That's terrible! I can't believe someone on here would do that! I think you can get a plug in to stop that happening, ok not sure what it's called though.. Shame on them!

What dirt bag!

Hi Lynne, I feel for you, this is always happening to us with our micrographs. They are taken and used without permission, often on sites we would not allow them to be used on. It is an affront and pure theft. Does this blog mean the perpetrator is a WA member? This kind of behaviour should be nipped in the bud and if he/she is a member, Kyle should be notified. You can get a takedown notice Lynne, to get your content removed from the offender's site. Ches

Nah I won't bother with it, really not worth my time. I have better things to do. I've seen people copying Kyle's own posts too which is really sad.
It won't hurt me in any way, I just wanted to let people who do this know that it really is stupid and self-destructive.

Hello Lynne.
I'm sure I suggested you protect your website after I had a looksee when you started following me.
If I didn't then here is my blog instructions on how to do it. have a great day.
Robert

Thanks Robert! I'll have a look, much appreciated :)

No probs Lynne and its a really important thing to do as you will read in my blog.
Robert

Will do, added the link into my blog post here so everyone can get there too!

okey dokey and you get your site protected asap.
Now I'm off out for the day so maybe catch you later tonight.
Robert

I know you want to prevent anyone from copying your content. But still anyone can still copy it. If you go to the page source, I can see the content, and copy it from there. If it were me I wouldn't install this type of plugin. It does make your website experience lower, in my opinion. You know from a accessibility stand point. Some people use right click and copy/paste for other helpful ways like googling something they may found interesting in your article or highlighting the text so they can can read it better.

What's important here, is this is your content and if someone is copying it, they won't get ranked, like you said. Just thought I give you all the facts.
Mike

Hello
I have never had any problems with my site slowing down.
And as for anyone who wants to copy/paste, there really isn't any need to do that if they want to share the content.
All the have to do is pass along the URL.
Also why would you personally want to go to the page source?
Most people wouldn't know to do this anyway so why bother.
I believe that you must do everything in your power to protect your work and if not it will get copied and whoever does it can easily put the content through a spinner and hey presto, they have another article or blog they can use.
Robert

I didn't meant to imply your site would slow down...the overall experience, called User Experience, would go down, in my opinion. You never may know how much people use right click. Believe me, I understand you want to protect your work. I'm not saying, that you shouldn't use the plugin, as it is your website, but be mindful of user experience at the same time.

Here's an related article on right click, it was written back in 2002, but it still applies today: http://www.sitepoint.com/dont-disable-right-click/

Mike

okey dokey we can agree to disagree on personal choice.
Have a nice day.
Robert

Understandable. You have a good day. Mike

you too

Wow. What a parasite!

Sorry to read this. How do you know that somebody is copying your content, as they will not be ranking quickly, if at all?

people ask for comments, anyway I read my own posts sometimes lol

so they do not only copy, but then put it in the same community! That is pretty lame and stupid. I just hope it does not hurt your work.

Great Post! Thats's what I call PASSION FOR THE THINGS YOU LOVE

Lynne, I'm sorry this happened to you.
It was a very sleazy move on their part but, you stated it very well.
You are the true class act!

I have a great deal of empathy for you as someone did the same to me for keywords...Hope Google catches up real fast.

Sorry to hear that, I know it has happened to others in the past as well. How did you discover it i.e. is there something I should be checking in case this is happening to more than one site? - Marie

LOL people ask for comments so I have been reading my own posts heehee

I wouldn't worry, this will happen. There really is nothing you can do about it. Remember the person that will fail is the copier, It will have no effect on you or your content!
