Mass Planner Shut Down

I was using Mass Planner for close to a year with some absolutely outstanding results for my social media marketing.

Mass Planner sent an email recently saying that they have now closed down, it has to do with Facebook and Instagram taking action against automated software.

Then a few weeks later they sent an email stating that they will continue to run for current customers but without any Facebook and Instagram options... plus the price increased from $9.99 per month to $19.99 per month for much less.

So I decided not to carry on with them since the main thing that I needed Mass Planner for was to send content out to all my accounts. Yes I did use the software to find and join some groups on Facebook as well as grow my Twitter and Instagram accounts.

The issue that I think they had was with all the automated messages that people were sending out, you know all those seriously annoying messages? Oh and automated comments too...

I can certainly see why Facebook and Instagram got annoyed because I did too!

While I believe that I used the software in the correct way I have seen how so many people have used it to spam people which is not the way to do online marketing.

Anyway I am going to disable the few tutorials I published for Mass Planner

And if anyone is interested I am back to Social Jukebox which I am using for my biggest accounts so I can post my content to my Facebook page and Twitter accounts.

It costs $19.99 a month and while I am not getting close to the functionality I was with Mass Planner I am getting the most important functionalities for my business at this stage.

Happy Saturday!

It was probably going to happen eventually. A lesson I learned years ago was that if you use tools that abuse things, eventually they will stop working or will get shut down.

The problem with Mass Planner was that it was TOO automated. You could literally set it up and let it run entirely on its own, right?

Any time you are using a tool or technique that somehow abuses things, your days are numbered.

It used to be possible to rank quickly on Google by firing loads of fake comment backlinks to redirected domains. I got on page 1 really quickly doing that, but the technique was so aggressive my ISP got complaints. This was several years ago, when I wasn't a member of WA, back in my naughty days...

Yes I started getting worried when I noticed what other people were doing with it so I am not really annoyed. There were some people that signed up under me for Mass Planner and then spammed me! Like what? Some people will abuse anything you give them.

Hi Lynne

It is our ability to adapt that makes us successful in our online enterprizes,

Out with the old and in with the new, but it is distressing when something that works real well becomes redundant or gets discontinued,

I hope that you can continue your success with the change over

All the best
Gary

Oh I will be fine, I adapt to changes quite well. Fortunately my online business is providing nicely for me and I have enough traffic to my websites without having to automate my social media but it was so nice having content sent out to all my social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Google Plus) continuously. Now I only have it being sent out to one Facebook page and two Twitter accounts... I'll find something to help me manage more at some stage.

I just worked up a solution to replace Mass Planner and more...

I am hiring full time a couple of people out of the Philippines to take care of all the social accounts, customer support, some content creation, and even a rudimentary bit of store management...

My cost? $300 each for 40 hours 5 day weeks...They have their own laptops and internet access and can work from home. This is an interim plan, eventually, I want to open a full on agency there.

In the meantime, the two will be able to make good money to provide for their families (second incomes) and I will have some much-needed help...

This is a direction all of us will likely move in one way or another over time as we grow up and scale up our online businesses. In this case, I like the idea of real persons doing this work.

Thanks to the wonders of technology advances, this is possible today to a degree that never has been possible before. Right now we are operating from Germany, Dubai, the Philippines, Thailand, and China!

All this on a shoestring budget compared to even the costs from a decade ago, and also more live and hands on than possible back then...

Cheers!
Dave : )

Good luck with that, I hope it pans out really well :) And yes real people doing social media will always be best.

You are getting so good at this stuff! Maybe start a Mentoring thing!

Having your fingers in different pies, I think is a good thing isn't it!

When I started here at WA 2 years ago I asked Kyle about Skyping when you wanted to talk about stuff, he said No we don't use Skype here at WA.

It`s quicker, gets to the problem sooner, faster, and can sink in!

I can understand why he said that with a number of Members!

But it doesn't stop others helping if they want to do it!

I know everybody's busy doing their own thing!

Just a thought.

Lou

Oh noooo I just don't have the time to do mentoring! If anyone wants to know something that I know I would much rather do a tutorial and share it here or on Youtube.

Im terrible in SM so I thought of using Mass planner but felt I did not have enough followers to justify using it.Thanks for the info.

You can use social jukebox for free but the account is very limited!

I was waiting for this post Lynne to give me some clarity on why Mass Planner shut down. Thanks for clarifying.

It is a pleasure Lauren :)

As a rule, I never use any software that does all my social tasks automatically. The search engines and social sites such as Facebook constantly change their rules and algorithms to prevent spam and other forms of gaming the system. For every one person who uses such software responsibly, there are many who abuse the power these tools give them, thus ruining it for everyone.

Yes and I saw it so much... I had someone keep commenting on posts I made in Facebook groups and it was so obviously automated and it ticked me off. I eventually blocked that person... sad thing is that I recognized that person from here.

Well, you have to do what you have to do. Good luck.

Great info! Thanks
